As you drive on it, it sounds as if a squad of TIEs are coming at you. And I noticed this many different times. I wonder if Lucas heard this noise and thought it was cool and decided to make TIE Fighters emit that noise as they streaked across space. That and an elephant trumpeting... At least I think that's what it is...
