Downside is the 176kb filesize for a banner, but I guess it's an animation! :P

Aye, it's subtle, but i've only been using the software since half ten this morning! :P

I tried it out with this logo I found lurking on my HD:

and got it down to about 117kb

What is this software, mate?

It's called Sqirlz Reflections, and is freeware. A simple google search should pull up a download site. It's also very easy to use! Not just water reflections, but rain and the snow effect as well.

Your present avatar is brilliant LF dude!

 A word of warning though, to you who wouldn't normally be mindful about file size considerations (which you have to on web sites), is that it tends to save .gifs at very large file sizes, so I tend to optimize what it churns out in Image Ready. Easy and great fun to use though, so I recommend it to all! :)

If you can't find it, email me and i'll send you the zip file

ImageReady is discontinued.

Photoshop CS3 does indeed combine Image Ready with the main PS programme, which does cause some problems editing old gif animations. Whilst File>Import Movie allows you to work on stuff, it's not really appropriate for gif files from the brief glimpse i've seen. Adobe, being greedy money sucking scum, apparently want us to do this these days in Fireworks.

I may be wrong, just hear say from others I know; i'm still on CS2 at work, and PS7 at home, until my copies' of CS2 & 3 arrive from my mate in Beijing.

How much did they cost you?

Nothing. I have an exceedingly rich friend who's business is based in China, who sends me stuff at home for free, or he is being sold utterly over-priced Adobe software on the cheap in Beijing which I have no moral problem in installing on my home PC. Select option A or B.

So not even the postage. Class 8)

You be willing to forward those to me? Yes, no, maybe?

Not really, given this is a public forum.

If you think about it for a sec, Mith, I don't really think the precedent in discussing exchanging possibly cracked software on these forums, would be a good idea. I was merely stating what might possibly be a scenario in my own personal life, outside the boundaries of this site.

Plus none of it has arrived yet

My bad, J. It's been a while since I spent copious amounts of time here. I forgot some of the unwritten rules.

I would love to help E, but simply have not the talents with vectors or drawing stuff, the more so at these scales! :(
