I assumed you did with blending options and inner glow. The beauty of the lettering in the gif I posted is that the main body of the lettering can be virtually transparant whilst the edges are glowing enough to keep the letters apparent. This is what I can't figure out... but hell, with multiple minds engaged on the subject I reckon we'll get there soon. Your saber has a very retro feel, strangely reminding me of Royal Naboo gameplay in Galactic Empires... but that may just be me. Anyway, now that Colonel_Olorin has pointed me in the right direction, I HAVE AT LAST almost figured out the method the author of the above woo-yay gif used for his holographic lettering effect!!! Whilst I guess i'll be trying to perfect the technique all day tomorrow, I opened up Photoshop after my supper and cracked open a tin of beer; my very first attempt employing Colonel_Olorin's stroke effect which is in the edit menu: http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0RAAFAzoUbrddKljOmst8iwU0Rg5Bhk3164OuVgzhoV5eAcHxLwYnRK0cGjWPVSp0viZyQ6V!nsZ9xpEPUTmABjwF27cxgH9YAKaFgR7g!ic/test_01.gif For a first attempt with the stroke tool, I don't think it was bad atall.
