bobandrubert Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 http://www.noradsanta.org/en/default.php When I was tracking Santa I saw he was over France. I quickly turned on the TV. to see if they surrendered to Santa yet
DarthTofu Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 lol, nice. Though you really kind of have to hand it to the French- they were one of the only nations whom we asked to help us who said "You know, these guys have really weak intelligence suggesting weapons of mass destruction, and there's no clear exit strategy. I don't think I'm going to send hundreds of my nation's troops out to die." 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
bobandrubert Posted December 25, 2005 Author Posted December 25, 2005 dude I am with the french. but I am also american so making fun of them is in my blood. what I don't get it is, without the french america would still be british yet bush makes fun of the french. oh well.
DarthTofu Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Makes fun of them? How so? You mean like freedom fries and stuff? That is taking it over the top, yes, but I wouldn't call it making fun of the French. Plus, if I were French I wouldn't be particularly offended since A) It's one of the weakest comebacks ever and B) French Fries are American anyway. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

DarthTofu Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 French fries were from Belgium dude Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they originated in New York... Though that could have been my father lying to me again... Still, the story I head was that there was some snooty guy at a restaurant somewhere in new York who had some potatoe product that he believed to be undercooked, so he sent it back to the kitchen and a rather angry chef. Deciding to make the customer more angry he put them into hot lard before taking them out and dumping salt all over them. Upon eating them the customer asked what they were and they waiter claimed that they were French fries, a delicacy in France that he should not turn down. The customer enjoyed them and wholly agreed, thus French fries were born. Or something like that. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
