DarthTofu Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Who's seen Forest Gump? Its on TV right now and I'm watching it. Pretty good movie in my opinion, just figured ited be nice to have people to discuss the film with. For instance: Were some of the roles Forrest plays based on things that other real people did? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I remember seeing the film and quite liking it. There are some very nice bits in it. I love the bit where he creates the smiley by cleaning his face. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Darth_Rob Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I don't think they are based on things a particular person did. But then again, I don't know. All in all, I enjoyed the movie. It is probably my favorite movie with Tom Hanks. It was interesting how they put him in the center of so many popular events in American history. DarthTofu Posted December 24, 2005 Author Posted December 24, 2005 (edited) I never said it was based on what one person did, just what several other people might have done. I loved the Watergate thing! That and when he was awarded the Medal of Honor and, ahem, showed the guy giving it to him where he was shot Edited December 24, 2005 by DarthTofu 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
bobandrubert Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I liked the amry bus driver "Hi, I am forest, Forest gump. NO ONE GIVES A HORSE SHIT EHO YOU! GET YOUR F***** ASS ON THE BUS YOU ARE IN THE ARMY NOW!"
carrieofthewest Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 That is my favorite movie. "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get." -Forrest Gump The Bunny Princess
DarthTofu Posted December 31, 2005 Author Posted December 31, 2005 Funny thing is, I never actually herd that line. I came in kind of late to the movie (About when he meets Elvis) but I still only heard his mom saying that... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Guest Scathane Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Well, there are some critics who gave stated that Forrest Gump actually symbolizes the United States.
dinochick Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I really like Forrest Gump! I own the DVD and soundtrack (whichis so good I had to buy another one to replace my scratched up cd's). The movie is based on a book, which I did not like as well as the movie (it is pretty diffrent in some places). And, as far as I know, no one ever mooned Nixon while getting a metal. I think that was all in a computer. http://www.dinochick.com/dc_saber_banner_02.gif

Trejiuvanat Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 The soundtracks is very cool, the movie so-so... Too US. American for my taste... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif

Trejiuvanat Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Yep, I do see the criticism, but it's still too ... ... ... too hollywoodesque. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
