Of blasters and droid detectors

Continued from the "Dancing Yoda" topic.

 

Wuher runs about in ANH, shouting "no blasters! no blasters!" when (I think) Ponda Baba and Dr. Evanstan start up with Luke and Obi. I think he minds blasters very much.

 

As for the droids, anyone in that damn cantina could have been a spy (like Garidan). And I don't think Wuher ever bothered laying down carpet that's only gonna get painfully stained with blood, guts, and drink. So I think he had a droid detector installed so that he could be kind of a bully. Maybe he was picked on in school, and now, in order to feel like a big shot, he stoops to the level of picking on helpless, inferior droids.
