It's a 3d gaming engine, and from the screenshots it was used to make 3d adventure games in real time. However, since its open source it could be configured to do whatever you wanted it to, right? Another thing is this modeller, which I think looks really cool http://www.koppfolio.com/3D/iModeller.jpg You take pictures and it transforms it into a 3d model!
