Based on projects that my sister and I did in sixth grade, I can tell yout hat there is a rather wide spread "Day of the dead" holiday in South America, in Dominica and Peru for certain. The holidays are sort of like Haunica and Christmas- they're at the same time of year and sort of celebrate the same thing, but still have a fair number of differances (*That thing about Hunicca and Christmas wasn't meant to offend anyone. I appoligize if it did offend and would like to know how it did to avoid the mistake in the future). I think that the Day of the Dead includes offerings to the dead and is when the dead are supposed to walk among the living or something along those lines, and that a platter of food is left out for them or something like that. As for Trick-or-Treating, i'm a High-School-Freshmen, so you should figure that out... It means that I'm going as someone younger than myself! :P In reality I might go Trick-or-treating, or I might just give the kids candy then go out later in my "Under Cover FBI agent" costume, complete with jeans, a T-shirt, and my air-soft gun, possibly.

I'm being the Phantom of the Opera. I made a mask in art a couple weeks ago and bought a really cool traveller/fedora hat that looks really good with the clothes I'm wearing. So yeah, basically I'm going to walk around singing loudly all halloween until my throat ruptures and I die.

My girlfriend and I are attending a costume party. If I can find the parts, I'm going as Walnut from Phantom Brave. She's going as the healer class. I figure most of you haven't played these great Ps2 strategy RPGs. If you like grid-based strategy games, I suggest checking them out
Count Dooku is the strongest Star Wars character as depicted in the movies. All hail Christopher Lee.

I DO like those types of RPG's, but never heard of the title. I may have to look into that.

My gf's friend is throwing a party, so me, her, and our two other friends are going as a maurading band of pirates. I found this crazy link that gives you a pirate name after taking a quiz, and my pirate name is "Mad Tom Blackwell". Pretty suave. As a side note, the last time I went trick-or-treating was last Halloween (I was 22 and a tad bit embaressed to be out), when I went as "Darth Alf". I basicly wore this crazy black outfit with an Alf mask and a Darth Vader mask over it (it was pretty hot). That was nuts.

I'm not being very original this year. I'm just going as a Redcoat Officer from the Napoleonic Era. Should win me the costume contest at work though.

What's the prize?

Last year is was a $50 gift card for our store (Zellers), which I suppose is pretty good. If I win I can buy Revenge of the Sith. There is a $25 gift card for second place, but unless I trade in some HBC points for a Trande-and-Save, it will cost me more money to get it. Ah the joys of being the over-piced competitor of Wal-Mart!

Dude, Wal-Mart is, like, the crappiest store in existance... I want to strangle the stupid smiley faces that they hang up... Albeit, were it not for Wal-Mart, many more people would have died from hurricane Katrina (Very sad pictures of some six year old giving a thumbs up for back to school sales while people walk in the flooded floors taking what they need to survive)

Being inside a Wal-mart hurts my eyes... I don't know why but my eyes just won't stop hurting until long after I have left...

I hate to say this, but I work for a Wal-Mart here in NY. I work in the accounting office, which is a pleasant hole-in-the-wall where I spend my days counting tons of money. Sort of like in a Vegas casino :) . But I must say that Wal-Mart goes above and beyond for the consumer, but really likes to kick it's own employees square in the knickers. As for the Hurricane Katrina, Wal-Mart donated like $17 million right after, and continued to raise money at the store level for weeks after. I think our store did something like $6000 or so. But don't get me wrong, I still hate my job and can't wait to find something better and bounce outta there!

Huh? COnversion machine? What is Wal-Mart converting? And good pics, Dino Chick- I don't have the arts and crafts ability to make anything that good- I specify more in either building large things that do mundanely simple tasks or just blowing up stuff that's cute and fluffy.

Nice costumes DC. Did you ue help from the net to build them or did you just do it totally by yourself?

Thanks. I ues patterns for the Leia and Obi-Wan costumes, and just made slight modifications. The Padame costume I just made from scratch.

I am asking because of my intention to build myself a sith costume. And any tips could help.

What are you dressing up as for the next convention if i may ask?

No plans as of yet. I have found that theforce.nets costume boards can be very helpful, along with another site whose URL I don't have on this computer, but I will post it tonight when I get home. It has been a great help to me.
