Jahled Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I have a feeling our man Vakundok, or however you say his name, might have addressed this previously, but I couldn't see it when I went for a little strole. Do we know how to edit the game's system energy slots? This is what i'm sort of on about: One thing holding the game back is the amount of systems in the game with energy slots of say between 3-5 for example. I would like to have a galaxy where there is something like 12 minimum, and with a lot of 15-18 systems. Obviously my next question is the raw materials, though obviously this comes second. Anybody... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Thrawn90 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I have often wondered about this too, and have been unable to find a solution. Anybody know how?
DarthTex Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I don't know how to do this , but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess ... you can't (especially with 15-18 slots). I think 14 is the maximum slots I've ever seen on any one system. That being said, to add more slots would require "extra" graphic space for the system info (unless you "squeeze" down the existing slot size). Not that any of this couldn't be done, I just don't know how (which was your original question). Worse comes to worse, cut the maintenance/refined points of everything to be built, plus mine/refinery output, to "make it seem" that system resources are more potent than they actually are. Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
Defender_16 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Most energy slots I've ever had was 25 on Coruscant because I increased the number of buildings the planet would have at the start of the game. I tend to do the same thing with the Rebel Capital as well.
DarthTex Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Would you elaborate on how you accomplished this? I'm guessing you used RebEd (but I'm not sure). Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
Jahled Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 Would you elaborate on how you accomplished this? I'm guessing you used RebEd (but I'm not sure). By going to 'game set up' with the editor. I'm just beginning to wonder how much could be achieved if it's princible creator, Revolution, gave us the source code to his little creation.... Mask uses it on his site 'with permision,' so some contact must have been active... Time element is getting more out of hand on this front. About eight years and no one else has hacked the source code? *stunned* http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Lord_La_forge Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Time element is getting more out of hand on this front. About eight years and no one else has hacked the source code? *stunned* Yes I was wondering about that too. But as far as I know, it's almost impossible to crack a source code. Vakundok and Mask did some cracking, but I think those were just tries for understanding the hexadecimal lines stored in the dat files. If you have a lot of freetime, you possibly could hack it too, by changing some numbers in those files, and wait what will happen.

Emm... here's something i've just thought/remembered about, but there was a resources editor/cheat for the game (which I can't find on my HD)* where you could generate maintenance points. The person who developed this must have had some reasonable knowledge of the game-files to produce this. This is something I will privately pursue if someone can provide me with the said editor. Further: Not just the ability to edit starting energy etc, but to drastically increase the new system energy/resources event; in the long term, perhaps even have the option to 'build' system energy/resources. Makes sense. Gives the side with just six sectors left to the opponant, means to strike back... *someone please help me on this. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Mad78 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Okay so i did a little seaching on google and found this:A Galaxy SizerA Refined Material GeneratorAn Ingame Editor(I think you need to uninstall RebEd to use this program) I haven't had time to test these. PLease tell me what you think. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Jahled Posted November 13, 2005 Author Posted November 13, 2005 Nice one M! I actually found the resource editor very late last night, and am once more completely dispirited. There is no means to contact the author, and it doesn't seem to work in any case. Ho hum. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Defender_16 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Interesting... what do these do that RebEd doesn't? I think I missed that part.
DarthTex Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I'm sure it's a long shot (really long), but has anyone tried to contact any of the authors of these editors/cheats to see what they know and who they got their information from? I know most of these were done years ago and e-mail addresses fade with time. Just curious. Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
Jahled Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 Wha does that trainer do? The one I found was meant to create construction points I guess, but it doesn't seem to work... DarthTex: That was my sole purpose, to try and find means to contact the designer of it, but there's no lead. Has anyone attempted to contact Revolution btw, at least to get the RebEd source code? http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Mad78 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I will try and find Revolution's email. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Mad78 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Searched about. Not very encouraging. The Rebed site (rebed.cjb.com) is down and the only email I found was revolution@workmail.com. I sent a message but it ain't very encouraging. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
