DarthTofu Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Okay, about the same time I was born, an increadible piece of technology came out: The fat mac home computer. A little after that, another modle came out that was in colour and allowed people to play games and other educational software. Then AOL arrose and sent out thousands of free disks, one of which included many great, ancient games, like Tank, and Silicone Volleyball. Among these games was the great (Bumbadabum!) Star Wars Trivia game. Designed by some guy I don't know, it asks several questions, including who the bounty hunter is that Leiah impersonates and a few dozen others. Did anyone else ever play that trivia game, and if so, did they ever get the answers to it? I was driven mad trying to figure out what they were! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Is it possibile to download this game? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
DarthTofu Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 I dunno. The old Mac Passed away recently- or the moniter did, at any rate, so I can't find who made the trivia game in the first place. I think it was made sometime around '92, though, as I have said. However, it was pre-internet, when AOL was still experimenting with ow to annoy us and spell check wondered what the internet was... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 The oldest game I remember is Star Wars (A New Hope) for the NES. I could never get too far. The game started as Luke in the Dune Sea, driving the landspeeder around, looking for stuff. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Thrawn90 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Sounds familiar to an original GameBoy game I own by the same name, Darth Rob. I wonder if they are the same...
DarthTofu Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 What's the NES? Nintendo something something.... Is the game you're thinking anything like the Indaina Jones game series for the Game Boy? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Tofu, I hope you are j/k or I would be very shocked. I don't know if it was for the gameboy or not, but it was definetly for the NES. I know there was an ESB and ROJ for SNES, but that was much later on. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! DarthTex Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Darth_Rob, be shocked . Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
DarthTofu Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 No really, I have no clue what the hell an NES is. Anyone going to explain, or do I have to turn in my geek card and google? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted October 6, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted October 6, 2005 Exactly, its a Nintendo Entertainment System Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
DarthTofu Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Oh. So like, what, an N64 or something? Or just all Nintendo games in general? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted October 6, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted October 6, 2005 No, its the first Nintendo system marketed in America. The original 'Nintendo', followed by the Super NES. The N64 system did not come until later. Darth_Rob Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Tofu, I am shocked and appalled. The NES was a kickass system (the first one I had). It was so freaken sweet, with tons of sweet games. Ranting in old person voice:And back in my day, we had only TWO action buttons, not like you fancy kids with their four buttons on the controller, four more on top, and one on the back thrown in for good measure. And another thing. We didn't have these fancy smancy analog sticks. We had one good old directional pad. But I see kids these days with TWO analog sticks, to control the CAMERA ACTION! Gosh, kids today... Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
DarthTofu Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Dude, give me a break- the only video gaming system I have besides a PC is a PS2 with one game (DDR) that my family got all of about two months ago. My parents dislike any and all video game systems because apparently they will keep their children inside and sitting on their arses all day instead of going outside to run around in circles to get some exercise. Consecuentially we stay inside and read. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Yeah, my parents never liked games either. When I first got NES, my dad probably played it more than me. He was addicted to Mario and Duck Hunt. Then he got mad at himself for being so addicted. I think that's why they hated the games so much. DarthTofu Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 Ah. I can just see what would happen with an abusive parent that beat their children Father (while hitting self): Dammit, stop playing these stupid games! Go out and get some exercise! Father (Now crying): I don't wanna! Mario is too much fun! (Proceeds to beat self while crying) But no, for a long time Star Wars trivia was the most advanced Star wars game in the market for me. None of you ever have/had those ancient Macintosh computers or the AOL disks with all the games? Dang, we got the stuff in Cuba on a military base- I'd think that you guys would get it! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Jonaray Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 WOOO HOO!Old school games rock! And the NES system realy did kick arse!Nintendo have setup a legacy!Outside of Starwars, The Zelda series carves up!1st, on the NES, then another relaeso on the SNES!Then N64's 2 Zelda releases were great and now...OMG, Windwaker is good, but...Zelda the Twilight Princess looks absolutely increadable! Now that that is off my chest, Old School PC 3D starwars games like The Xwing series rocked:X-Wing, A-Wing, B-Wing etc! Oh, and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter ruled aswell!
DarthTofu Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 X-wing I'm familiar with. Were there actually games called B-wing and A-wing? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I don't know. But X-Wing vs TIE most certainitly rocked. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted October 16, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted October 16, 2005 X-wing I'm familiar with. Were there actually games called B-wing and A-wing? No, however there was the "B-Wing" expansion for the original X-Wing game, disk version. It was later added into the full CD version Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
DarthTofu Posted October 16, 2005 Author Posted October 16, 2005 Oh... I have the 'collecters addition', that would explain why I can fly B wings... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Jonaray Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Yes, they were expansions not individual games!I still got the Floppys!Ah I loved those games and Dark forces etc!Ah the golden gaming era of the 90's!Still gotta love those early classics!I think you will find the trivia game wasnt the oldest!Correct me if I am mistaken, but was not ANH made for NES in the 80's?
Lord_La_forge Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I still can remeber playing ROTJ on my old C64. Hours of fun
Mad78 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Managed to find a emulator on the net to play a bit of NES ANH. So much fun. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
BeerSnorkel Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I played a Star Wars arcade like game on my Atari 130. It was the Atari 130 version of the arcade death star trench game. Early or mid 1980s'ish. I also have enjoyed on the same machine, "Rescue on Fractalis" which was set in the Star Wars universe. ...somehow. You children playing with that NES thingamajig. Mere infants..... Anyone have one older than that? Gets his sundial and Aztec calendar ready..... I can't tell you how much we laughed on the set to have Alec Guinness in a scene with a big, furry dog that's flying a space ship. ~ Mark Hamill
