Mad78 Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Does any one of you play an instument and if yes which one? I am currently learning how to play the Didgeridoo. Its the circular breating the hard bit. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

Mad78 Posted September 5, 2005 Author Posted September 5, 2005 Easy to come acros cheap ones during festivals... But I ordered a genuine one from Australia. Sounds bloody brilliant. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I've played the trumpet for eight years, though I haven't had much time this year, and I think my abilities have failed me. I'm hoping to pick up a violin or viola some time in the near future and take lessons. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Mad78 Posted September 5, 2005 Author Posted September 5, 2005 How hard is it to play the trumpet? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Well, remembering the fingerings (which combination of valves to press down) is easy, however the embouchure (formation of your lips) is the hard part. For the lower notes your lips will be quite loose, but the higher notes need alot of tension. You can't just blow through the intrument either, you play as though you were making an elephant sound. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
DarthTofu Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I play clarinet in marching band. I also play Tenor Saxophone and Bass clarinet, but only for concert season with the base, and for nothing special with the sax (Just wanted to learn to play the "star wars" theme song on that. Which I know, if anyone wants the notes and is a band geek like me ) So now the woodwinds, brass, and WTF instruments are all represented! How do you change notes with a Didgeridoo? I don't see any fingering spots, so I'm going to assume that it's like a brass instrument, just without range. Though if it does require fingering knowledge, I can tell you up front that learning and remembering fingerings is easy enough- its trying to play them at fifty-miles-an-hour that hard (Or kilometers and hour, for the rest of the world). Oh yeah, that and playing in tune... Anyway, good luck with it. Drive your neighbors nuts! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

I don't see any fingering spots,You can change notes by changing the speed at which your lips vibrate. Its hard to explain but if you try it you shall understand what i mean. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
PHSYCOBOB Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Clarinet, Alto Saxaphone, Acoustic Guitar
DarthTofu Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Alto... Sax...? Must, kill, non B flat instrument... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! KILL KILL KILL!!!!!! DIEDIEDIE!!!! Sorry, had to get that out of my system- in my experiance all people in E flat or concert pitch are ass holes... Well, they are, honestly, I have yet to find a decent flute or percussion person out there! Though these Didgeroo things may be exceptions. Can you play any tunes on it, yet? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 Yeah but I have to learn circular breating before I can really play it long. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
DarthTofu Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Like making noise while breathing in and breathing out as opposed to taking a breath when you need one? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
