DarthTofu Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 When did Mon Mothma die? I just remembered reading that the Mon mothma was named after "The late Mon Mothma" in Rebel Dream, I think, which made me go "huh? When did she die?" Hense this topic. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Darth_Rob Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I was likewise unaware of her death. I haven't been reading the newer novels as much as I used to. 0 SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted September 6, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted September 6, 2005 Just before the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, Mon Mothma died of natural causes. http://theforce.net/swenc/entrydesc.asp?search=16902 I assume out of the sources listed, it is most likely referenced in Destiny's Way. 0 Thrawn90 Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I remember reading something in refrence to her death mentioning how the mysterious illness, while not killing her, weakend her to the point where she died not long after. Yea, I know weird. Don't really remember where I read that...
0 Colonel_Olorin Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 well i suppose it's not really suprising she croaked it. in the x-wing books i think it was she left politics due to ill health. plus she wasn't a young lady no more by that time. looked atleast in her late 40's in ROTJ
0 DarthTofu Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 According to the ROTS book she was around as a senator when Palpy took control. So about as old as good old Obi. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Darth_Rob Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 And she has to be older, since he dies in ANH. Damn, she must have been near her 70's. That way to damn old to be running a democracy (that's why Palpy was an Emperor...so much easier to rule a dictatorship). Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! 0 DarthTofu Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 Umm, Rob? Mon Mothma's in Return of the Jedi. If she died in ANH, then that would make her dead beofre she appeared in teh movies. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Darth_Rob Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Yeah, I must have been smoking some mad crack there. 0 Darth_Rob Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 No wait a minute. I take that back. I said HE dies in ANH. Unless Mothma is a closet transvestite (a la Hoover), then HE refers to Obi-Wan dying in ANH. Ah, I feel better now. How dare you make me pity the fool of myself. 0 Thrawn90 Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 lol... that has to be one of the funniest double posts that I've ever read. I'm seriously cracking up over here! roflmao!
0 DarthTofu Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Hold n- how does that mean she's older? Isn't she younger? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Darth_Rob Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I dunno...maybe by 5 years or something. She wasn't no spring chicken. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
0 DarthTofu Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 I dunno...maybe by 5 years or something. She wasn't no spring chicken. That's spring nerf After all, this is Star Wars- when did chickens ever come into play in Star Wars (That would be funny though."Colonel Sanders, prepare to assault the planet!""Backawk!") And I think she was 40 years old in ROTJ, which puts her at... really frickin' old by NJO books. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Trejiuvanat Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 The actress who played young Mothma in Ep III is 28 years old, that plus another 20 years makes her in her late 40s by ROTJ, add another 25 years and she was in her 70s when she died. Rather young if you ask me. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
0 DarthTofu Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 Where was Mon in Episode three? I don't remember seeing her.... or Garm Bel Iblis who was supposed to be in it... I swear, tha tmovie was made based soly on reading the Thrawn trilogy.... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted September 27, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted September 27, 2005 An entire scene with the senators was cut from Episode 3I'm sure it will make it to the DVD though Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
0 Trejiuvanat Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 You can see Mon Mothma's back during one of the Senate scene, the scene with the begin of the Rebel Alliance will appear in the Episode III DVD. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
0 DarthTofu Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 You mean to tell me that they can make a CGI Tarkin, but not Mon Mothma? That's sad.... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 CGI Tarkin? Where was there a CGI version of him, I only remember the actor playing him in the final scene... History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
0 DarthTofu Posted September 28, 2005 Author Posted September 28, 2005 I thought that it was someone who looked something like Tarkin that had his face digitally altered to look like an ewok... only tall... and without the hiar... and who looked like Grand Moff Tarkin... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Darth_Rob Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I think that was a real actor Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png

0 Thrawn90 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 NEW EVIDENCE: I happened to be flipping through my "Guide to the Star Wars Universe" book (yea, im that geeky) and I came across something labeled 'nano-destroyer'. It reads, and I quote, "These artifically created viruses dismantle an infected person one cell at a time. Nano-destroyers were the basis of the disease infecting Mon Mothma seven yeras after the Battle of Endor." Under Mon Mothma, the book says about her death only that she succumbed to a terrible wasting disease, and that her life was saved by the Jedi healer, Cilghal. So... this doesnt really solve anything, just brings up new questions about how and why Mon Mothma...-- ah, screw it, I'm going to bed. 'Night.
