Numerouno Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Ok, started a game is the Rebels. Small Galaxy, Easy, Normal Game. Day 100:Sesswana Sector:I control Bortras, Balmorra and Svivren. Balmorra is may main base there. Early, I grouped everything together (3 Corvettes, a Med. Transport and an Escort Carrier with 1 X-Wing and 1 Y-Wing squadrom, and began constructing a dreadnought. I launched the attack on Coruscant before waiting for the dread. I thought there was just a ISDS, nothing else. They actually had 16 TIEs as well. 1 Corvette was destroyed. everything else crippled. 7 Bothans were went to spy on the planet-they all died. Luke, Han, Chewie and Crix did a bunch of missions, eventually destroying the ISD and freeing Drayson. Sumitra Sector:My base is here, on Tierfon. I send everything to Yavin, to hold against imperial strikes. (A Med. Transport, a few corvettes and a pack of X-/Y- Wings. Mon Mothma recruits a bunch of personell, including Garm Bel Iblis, so I give him command of two corvettes, the Katana and the Dagger, and send him away to pester Imp forces. All chars and spec forces are sent to balmorra from Yavin. Wedge researches there, but no progress. Not the best of starts.
DarthTofu Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 It's handy to just abandon Sesswenna for a while early in the game- you will get your head handed to you if you try to take for to long (I speak from experiance). I was doing either medium or hard, forget which and tried to take the sector. I primarily sabatoged where I could and/or incited uprisings, but no to much avail. Also, I'd abandon Yavin, unless it has a lot of mines/refinerys/build points/construction yards, etc. The Empire will whipe you out if you try to hold it. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 When I do happen to play as Rebels, I always leave Yavin ASAP. I play on the largest galaxy, so there are plenty of other uncolonized systems to explore and take over. If playing against the Empire, they always go there eventually (though its a waste of their time). Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Numerouno Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 The odd thing is, I'm on day 200 currently and it hasn't ben attacked yet. Oh, and I'm about to take coruscant
Eko Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 You're playing on easy right? I've just remembered i've got a signature!
Numerouno Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 GarmNo idea how to set difficulty. New update: Day 400 Sesswana Sector:I now have control of Coruscant, Balmorra, Uvena, Svivren, Bortras, Yaga Minor, and Ghorman. The other 3 systems are imperial. Everything is at full loyalty to me, and palpatine is captured. Luke is now a Jedi Master, slight progress has been made shipwise (now am up to the A-Wing) I'm about to begin construction of my first Mon Cal, the Garm Bel Iblis Called so because of the fact that Iblis got killed As well as madine. Luke has discovered 2 new Jedi. Corellian Sector:Fully Imperial now. Isn't going to be easy to take this place. I think Darth Vader is probably here, unless the Empire has some outer rim planets. Iblis got killed, but the Katana and the Dagger are still irrating the Imperials. I plan to launch an assault on one of the worlds in a bit. (Around day 600ish, probably a Mon Cal and a few Nebulon Bs, and some gunships.) Sluis Sector:No-one has done anything here yet, so I'll probably move in some diplomats. Sumitra Sector:Things are going well. Not a big fleet, but the Empire hasn't popped up here yet.
Eko Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 At the top left you will see three icons, one is a death star, on a ISD and I can;t remember what the other is right now. These are the difficulty levels I believe... I've just remembered i've got a signature!
Numerouno Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Aha. Well, I'm on whatever it starts as.
Lord_La_forge Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 It's a sin to start Rebellion without setting the difficulty to hard
DarthTofu Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I agree- You have to have your head handed to you at least once! Also, if you want some help taking Coruscant, then bloackade a couple of loyal Imperial planets that have many mines/refineries. Send espionage teams, and eventually a Star Destroyer or two will be dispatched to take care of what has been sent out. Send your fleet to Coruscant and reap the benefits of only having to take on a small chunk of the fleet. Plus about 80 squadrons of TIEs... %};ll: 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Numerouno Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Um, I already have it. And the emperor. I sabotaged the ISD and then there were only a few TIE squadrons. I'm so bad, I find it hard on easy......
DarthTofu Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Heck, every time I played I just pulled all force to the outer rim, made a huge fleet, blew up Sluis sector and then blew up Coruscant. That simple! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Numerouno Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 You used a death star? And what about finding palpy/darth?
DarthTofu Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Uh, no, I didn't use a Death Star. By "blew up Coruscant" I meant that I blew the crap out of its fleet and ground based defenses before i invaded it. As for Palpy and Darth, I usually find Palpy on Coruscant, but Darth always seems to get away- it annoys the living crap out of me when I eventually find him on Ryloth or whatever... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Trejiuvanat Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 You used a death star? I've done that... not a particularly good idea... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Numerouno Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Agreed on Darth, he's probably in Corellian.
DarthTofu Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 No no, he emant as the Alliance. Also, if you're the Empire and you blow up Coruscant, the Rebels can't take it. How great is that? You win the game if you eventually get a fleet in good order and kill everyone off. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Numerouno Posted September 1, 2005 Author Posted September 1, 2005 You have to protect coruscant though And what about vader?
DarthTofu Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 What about him? Move him off Coruscant. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
DarthTofu Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Oh. Whoops, I thought you were referring to if you were Empire, by saying that you had to protect Coruscant. Well, then, just send Luke down to Coruscant when he has a high force ranking, let him get captured or escape, or whatever, and you get Palpy- that easy! (If Luke is Jedi knight or higher and he is captured, he will be taken to palpy by Vader and overpower both, thus capturing them.) 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Numerouno Posted September 2, 2005 Author Posted September 2, 2005 Yes, but I don't know where Vader is!
DarthTofu Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 High likelyhood he's on Coruscant. Either that or you'll spend the whole game looking for him and finally find hum on the last planet that isn't yours. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
DarthTex Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Welcome to the hardest part of winning the game as the Rebel Alliance. You captured Palpatine, you've successfully assaulted Coruscant, all you need to do is capture Darth Vader. He can be anywhere. He might even go into hiding on Dagobah with Yoda (just a joke mind you). If you haven't already, start colonizing all the systems in the outer rim. Get all neutral systems to your side (via diplomacy or assault). After every single system in the entire galaxy is yours, he's bound to pop up somewhere (maybe). If you can't find him after an extensive search, he might be in hyperspace or is on a mission (doing what I wouldn't know, maybe starting an uprising so he can have his own Imperial system?). Good Luck, you'll need it. Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
