SWARMER

I would more have thought that they would use shoulder pads for divisions. And I have a theorie but first i must know how many men there are in a division.
Lazybuns. A division is a large unit which usually consists of 10,000 men. It is often composed of several brigades or regiments. In its own turn, several divisions make up a corps.

The only rank in the Star Wars universe that uses epaulets are Grand Admirals, though where that developed from I'm not sure. None of the descriptions of Thrawn in the books states that he wears gold epaulets. The only Grand Admiral who does is Zaarin.
How about plain vanity?

My theorie is that the name of the Stormtroopers will designate their rank and their regiment or divisions. T could stad for the regiment and K for the division and 421 could simply be a soldier number.

That would rather be the other way around then, wouldn't it? First letter for Division, second for Regiment and the number for the number in the regiment. If it were the other way around, we would have a TK10,000 walking around somewhere as well, which, although not impossible, seems a bit ludicrous...

By the way, more info on the designation TK421 here.

Right you are Scath. But I was wondering... Does the navy use the same designation or what kind of designation do they use.

Would you more consider it as something who started of as a reference to one of GL's films and ended up as something else?

Actually, in the books Lucas named that troper THX 1138, which was changed in the Radio Dram, and changed again for the movies. So, originally, it was a reference to one of Lucas' movies, but it was changed.

I'm not sure if there is anyone here who can answer that. Unless it has been reproduced, it was aired before our time. I can't imagine it would have been too bad, but the battles would have left one wanting.

It's probably a good thing that you do, since if we've lost it, well undoubtedly loose the information that you've already told us we've lost it (that's the first it, not to be confused with the it that refers to your reminding us of it, for that would make it [referring to this conversation as a whole, not to be confused with the previouse two its in the aformentioned conversation] very confusing). 8O

So, you don't feel that it (referring to my mentioning that you lost it; this latter it not referring to the same it I'm mentioning in this particular instance) is getting boring, annoying or in any other way pushing it (it being used as the anticipatory subject or object of a verb whose actual subject, object or compliment is another word, phrase or clause)?

Thanks to Scath's enlighted remarks concerning it(the it we have been mentioning previously as opposed to the it mentioned afterwards or the it that may come) everybody has understood it and will be able to follow up in this absolutely ridiculous conversation about the its used in this thread

Are you referring to inanimate objects, infants, animals, groups or collections, unidentified persons, ideas, situations etc. already mentioned or under examination? Or are you rather referring to subjects of impersonal verbs, expressing a state or condition? Of course you could also be referring to indefinite objects after verbs which usually have no subject and which I meant in my previous post but wrongfully referred to as anticipatory subjects or objects of a verb whose actual subjects, objects or compliments are other words, phrases or clauses...

Surely you mean: Scath will always beat us in grammar and spelling. But one day we will find some mistake he has made while typing after getting drunk on Amsterdam beer.

BTW, I rather drink beer from Zoeterwoude... :D
