Guest Scathane Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Well, there you go: one down, one more to go! According to the Technical Commentaries, the Grand Moff insignia is a bit different from Tarkin's. What's your flavor: http://www.thinknow.nl/grandmoff1.gif http://www.thinknow.nl/grandmoff2.gif http://www.thinknow.nl/grandmoff3.gif http://www.thinknow.nl/grandmoff4.gif Lemme know!
Jahled Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I like the Tarkin style the best. Thanks for the support guys.-Grand Moff Conway Woo! You got a honory title! And absolutely deserved. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
SOCL Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Well, there you go: one down, one more to go! What does that mean? EDIT: Hey, cool, Paul got it already! Though the picture of the insignia doesn't seem to be working correctly. Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 The bottom two are for Grand Moffs? I thought that six red and six blue were Fleet Admiral (Piett and Ozzel)? History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
SOCL Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 The bottom two are for Grand Moffs? I thought that six red and six blue were Fleet Admiral (Piett and Ozzel)?Rank insignia are not only based on the squares, but also the rank cylinders. Fleet Admiral does indeed have the same amount of squares, it merely lacks a rank cylinder...which is strange because less rank cylinders means a higher rank. ...Scath, where did you get the red-blue insignia? This is the page I had been referring to when I mentioned the different schemes. Or...did you end up getting off the files I sent you and, thus, I was wrong? Paul Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Thanks for all of the assistance fellows. SOCL do you know if the picture of my rank insignia will be working sooner or later? Not complaining just wondering.-Grand Moff Paul Conway
Trejiuvanat Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 (in case anyone was confused...and thought Scath had lost it ). Scath has lost it... EDIT: Hey, cool, Paul got it already! Though the picture of the insignia doesn't seem to be working correctly. That can be fixed. Good for you, Paul. Hope you enjoy it! http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif

Guest Scathane Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Well, there you go: one down, one more to go! What does that mean? That means: Rank down, insignia to go. SOCL do you know if the picture of my rank insignia will be working sooner or later? Not complaining just wondering. You haven't got one yet. Could you tell me which of the insignia I posted above you would like (unless you've got another insignia yourself, in which case you should send it to me by email)?
Paul Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Scathane- Since I am color blind what I see may not be the same as what you see . But give me the third one please. Thanks-GM Paul Conway
Darth_Officer Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 i am a modern man. secret secret i got a secret. with parts made in japan. now on to business. I am a longtime swrebellion member. my rank must be raised from what it is now. it's embarrasing.
Paul Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto-Styx nice lyrics SS Officer-Grand Moff Conway
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 From what I understood from the chart SOCL linked to, the last two Moff insignia you provided are not for Grand Moffs, but for regular fleet officers. The third colomn contains the insignia for ranks relating to commands such as those of Grand Moffs History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Guest Scathane Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Scathane- Since I am color blind what I see may not be the same as what you see . But give me the third one please. Thanks-GM Paul Conway It's blue and red. Will do.
SOCL Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 From what I understood from the chart SOCL linked to, the last two Moff insignia you provided are not for Grand Moffs, but for regular fleet officers. The third colomn contains the insignia for ranks relating to commands such as those of Grand MoffsSorry, I didn't understand a word of what you just typed. The different charts have to do with different schemes; as far as what they mean, that's anyone's guess. Guest Scathane Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 From what I understood from the chart SOCL linked to, the last two Moff insignia you provided are not for Grand Moffs, but for regular fleet officers. The third colomn contains the insignia for ranks relating to commands such as those of Grand Moffs Yes, so it seems. But Paul wanted the insignia that Grand Moff Tarkin wore in the movies, and the one he has now is it.
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 So Paul wanted this: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/6355/SWGallery/tarkin.jpgand got this: http://www.swrebellion.com/modules/Forums/images/ranks/grandmoffdef.gifI'm confused . History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 When I looked at the chart that SOCL linked to I got the impression taht the rank insignia Paul has now was for a regular fleet rank, such as Fleet Admiral, and that the insignia for Tarkin was the only Grand Moff insignia there is. Am I wrong in that History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
SOCL Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 When I looked at the chart that SOCL linked to I got the impression taht the rank insignia Paul has now was for a regular fleet rank, such as Fleet Admiral, and that the insignia for Tarkin was the only Grand Moff insignia there is. Am I wrong in that Well, in theory there is an insignia that is red and blue only for the rank of Grand Moff, but I have yet to find it. I do, though, see your point. The insignia Conway has is not that of a grand moff. In fact, it is of a rank lower than Fleet Admiral (due to the added cylinders). Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a prick there, Scath. Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Quite so (not about the prick thing ). I was under the impression that the rakn of Grand Moff was strictly a political rank, but that they were given command of the forces on duty in their sectors. If one follows that chart is seems to explain the confusing rank system in ANH, and why the system used in ESB differs so greatly. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Guest Scathane Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a prick there, Scath. Not more that youy usually do! Listen, GMC wanted his insignia Tarkin style. I think the picture GAT posted points out that that's exactly what he got...
Trejiuvanat Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 If you look closely at the picture, you'll see that the three lower right squares are yellow. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Mad78 Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I also noted that. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Exactly, that's why I posted it. Also, the blue squares are on the top of that picture, while GMC's are on the bottom. Just pointing things out. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
