coverting one model format...into another

let it be known that i know F all about how it could be done. but would in be possible to convert XWAlliance OPTs into whatever format Rebellion uses?

Sure, through a slight detour

 

Go to Darksaber's XWing station:

 

http://www.darksaber.freeserve.co.uk/fileopted.htm

and dowload the opt-3ds tool (about at the middle of the page). With that you can convert them to 3ds (big surprise, I know) and with a little sizing and texturing it'll work in Rebellion.

 

Be sure to have the author's permission, if it's not a ship directly from XWA

and if you want to give these ships to others !

 

I've asked some and there are people that'll say no and others that won't mind

Also, if it's not your model, give the original author credit for their hard work anyway. It's the least you can do

Nope, but take a look at my model tutorial (http://kickme.to/woodsboro/) it's not that hard to learn, even if you're lazy
