Stellar_Magic Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 Come on Trej, sure Spielburg tends to have children in the picture, and your analogy to Jurassic Park seems to fit with the trailers... Unfortunately the film is far superior to most every straight science fiction (By straight I mean that Star Wars is not included. Star Wars is much more of a fantasy then Science Fiction.) This film, ten years from now, will be among the most watched science fiction films. Up there with Star Wars, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's frightening in ways that few movies are anymore. You literally get a sense the world is coming to an end. The actors really don't matter to you after the first couple minutes. You see the characters for who they are and don't even notice who's playing who. Trej, you've got to see it. You won't be disappointed, think back to the films Spielburg has done. This thing isn't ET, its like Saving Private Ryan an exceptional piece of film. If you wait Trej, you'll be sorry. Darth_Rob Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 I finally saw the movie last night. I enjoyed it thourghly. It was a great alien invasion film, on the same level as Independence Day. It was definetly worth the wait, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet had the chance to check it out. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side!
