Well, the the UK it is the tag for Tottenham Hotspurs foootball club; North London rivals to the Arsenal; though these days they are not our rivals because they are crap. I'm confused by the post though... :?

Hmm, from the fact that you're American - I'm guessing they're and American football team?

Actually, despite the fact I know nothing about, nor do I enjoy watching basketball, I do know that the Spurs and Pistons are playing their final game tonight. If I'm not mistaken the Spurs are representing San Antonio and the Pistons are representing Detroit. There was something unique about this game (I think it had something to do with the first game five in eleven years or something).

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

To clarify: the San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team in the NBA (National Basketball Assocation, an American league). Last night the Spurs won game 7 (it's a best of seven series, so the first team to win 4 games wins the championship, and it took all seven games to get four wins). The San Antonio Spurs are the Western Regional champs, and the Detroit Pistons are the Eastern Regional champs. There are fifteen teams in each region, and all teams play 80 regular season games. The top eight teams in each region then play a tourment to decide who is the regional champ. The regional champs then play each other to decide who is the overall champion team.

Most people believe this is an American game, which it is mostly, but it is gaining wide acceptance throughout the world. The Spurs also have players from France, Argentina and Slovenia. Argentina won the gold medal for basketball in the olympics (defeating "professional" American ball players). Of course, several of those players play in the American NBA league. And many nations now also have NBA players on their country teams.

For those who don't know, San Antonio is in Texas (USA). Which is the humble abode of yours truly, DarthTex.

I usually don't care for NBA, but since the olympics I've loosely followed Ginobili's career. One great player. A well deserved win!
