I'm nnot sure if this is possible or not (I don't speak computer) but how cool would it be if you were able to punch a hole in the shields of a star destroyer? I think it was in the Kryts trap or something the Stackpole made a big deal about Rogue Squadron all hitting an Imp Star II and then any commander that was worth his rank would roll to present a shielded part of his capital ship. It's just an idea, and I'm sure that this can kick ass easily without it. One way it might work (And this is almost pure guesswork on my part) is if the the capital ship, which, as you said before, is made up of multiple 3D images, each of those 3D images had a different set of shields, or something? That way you can, like I said, punch a hole in it. That might lead to problems, though, if all of the AI doesn't aim at one location... I don't know, like I said, I'm not as smart as you people... In the computer world, that is :D

Sweet! That was one of my pet peeves with all of the other games. Well, that and the Rogue Squadron in-flight briefings... Imagine if our military (s) did that "okay, guys, we're flying apaches today because of their greater firepower. But watch out, because there's a fleet of F-16s out on a test flight- they could be back at any moment!"

Well right now I'm trying to figure out how to have the program read commands from a txt file. I'd like to make it so that the program would be easily moddable, but its tough going. If I can't get it to do what I want it may just be impossible to use the compiler (Which would absolutely stink).

Umm, so, like, what's the progress on this thing? Is at anywhere near completion, or is this one of those "IT'LL BE DONE WHEN IT'S DONE, DAMNIT, STOP ASKING, YOU PRICK!!!!!!!!" things?

I voted for intelligent wingmates. Nothing is worse than flying into battle and losing a pair of wingmates because they decide to crash into each other chasing a single enemy. 8O If the enemy is intelligent, so should the wingmates.

 

I also agree with the character traits. Good stuff...
