Diplomacy Picture

Hm...I know that the big ones are in the encyclopedia folder, or Edata. The pics that appear in the window are, I believe, in the Gokres.dll folder (incidentally, the one you want is entry 7184). Finally, the teeny tiny pictures that you see when you right click the mission icon on the bottom right of a planet are also in Gokres (in your case, you want entry 23568).

Be careful, however. The tiny picture seems to be more picky about what colors you use, and therefore can look screwy, even if you use the same palette for the previous entry! Hope that helps.

Aaah found it :) It was 417...something or another. Works fine in the game. Just used PSP to export the pallette from the old picture and then imported it to the new image. Used Irfanview to set the DPI and then Reshack to upload it all. Working fine in game now :)

Thanks for your help. However i am still on the lookout for a better picture!! :)

I use PSP5 to start with :)

Open your saved Rebellion picture, go to 'colors', 'save pallette'. Give it a name such as 'DiplomacyPallette' and save is to your hd.

Now open the picture you want to use in rebed, resize it to the correct size, go to 'colors', 'load pallete' & then save the new picture.

Then open the program Irfanview go to 'image', 'information' and set teh dpi to 28. Use Irfanview to save teh pic as a .bmp & then the pic is ready to be used in rebellion :)

Hope that helps. Let me know if there are any more questions.

There is another way to apply a pallete to a new picture: Open both the original and the new picture, resize the new picture to the correct size, then copy and paste the new picture as a new selction over the original picture and save under a new file-name. This way is a little bitte faster and no irfanview is needed.

Well, of course it won't hurt to flatten all layers to one. But doesn't have bmps allways just one layer? But you are right, better first merge the layers before saving it.
