Ideas on whatto name my ships

... My ship names are things I usally use off the top of my head...

 

One time i named a VSD after my mom.. and it particpated in most major battles of the game ... it never even got damaged ... yet it was right in the fray all the time....

I've done that too. everyone in my family has been a SSD. I mainly name my bigger ships. I've used states,cities,planets,animals, and sports teams.

Good Idea Ill have to try this some time when I run out of names.

 

As to the topic I usally name my SSD after the ships in stargate SG1.

Where'd you get Apollo from? Was there ever an Apollo on SG-1 and, if so, did I miss it? Huh... Another name for you- Orion (The Ancient Warship's name in SG-A)

 

I had fun with mine naming a huge number of SSDs after a favourite anime show of mine. I had a total of *thinks* eight SSDs running around, plus a Death Star on Coruscant. Hoo, yeah. Always good.

 

Ever name your ships for body parts? I had the spine, the tail bone, the thumb, the pinky finger, the skull, the ankle, the spleen, the galbladder, the...

 

Okay, fine, not really. But I think it would be rather fun to do.

i only name ships that ISD Class I and upwards..

 

the names usually come from metal bands or any other random thing in my head..
