I use Windows Media Player - use to be just because it came with Windows, though I like it now.

Prior to that, I used Sonique - which I still like, though I've been waiting for Sonqiue 2 for several years now and doubt they'll release it

Hmmm... This looks like a trick question...

For MP3 I use Winamp, for short videos I use Windows Media, for long videos I use VideoLan and for DVDs I use the Intervideo Player.

I am using Sonique. i don't mind it but I find it very limited by the fact it doesn't have the capacity to create a media libary. I am using it because it appears the latest version of iTunes has a bug which stops me from using it. :(

No, Winamp doesn't. I used to use Musicmatch Jukebox, but it was all cluttered and such. Winamp is much cleaner

I'm not an Apple fan.

Instead of Realplayer, get the Real Alternative package so you can play in Windows Media and other players.

Personally I dont like iTunes much. I think Winamp has much better options for playing music and creating different sound effects for them than iTunes. Its unfortunate that Apple in its desire to be more like Microsoft forces you to use their iTunes software in order to use one of their products (iPod). To me thats almost something you would expect of Microsoft not Apple. Ah well.

Well you can only use iTunes to upload music. Nothing obliges you to use it as a player.

iTunes seems to work again for me :D

Thats what I mean, in order to put songs on your iPod your FORCED to install iTunes and then your forced to start organizing songs and so on in it so you CAN upload it. A clever way of not only making you use it to transfer songs BUT now that you organized your songs in iTunes because you had to mind you, now its like "Well since they are all organized why not use it to play stuff?" and there you have it. Another clever way of Apple to try to gobble up market share of computer audio players.
