AdmiralToguroAni Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Hi. I hit a problem with the Agents. Specifically, I'm trying to replace C-3PO with a Servbot, and I managed to create a working bitmap that I placed in the "Albrief" and "Alsprite .dll files. Then, used the 302transcoder program to create an animation file (actually, I used the same picture for the base picture, first frame and last frame, since I didnt want them to be animated) and created a .bin file. I went in and replaced C-3PO's entries in the 302 folder of Albrief.dll. Now comes the problem. When I load up the game and the tutorial begins, the Servbot is in the background and a buggy Threepio is moving around inside of him. Any idea what causes that to happen? Thanks. the_mask Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Um, you have to replace all the animation frames/pictures with your new ones. Did you do that ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
AdmiralToguroAni Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 I replaced all the ones in Albrief.dll with the new .BIN files (it was the same file, with the same bitmap for original picture, first frame, and last frame), but not the ones in Alsprite.dll. Even though I didnt replace the animations in Alsprite, it shouldnt make a difference in the Briefing, right? Count Dooku is the strongest Star Wars character as depicted in the movies. Jin_Roh Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Then, used the 302transcoder program to create an animation file AdmiralToguroAni, could I ask if this transcoder program is a shareware download or part of a package you purchased? I've wanted to get rid of IMP 22 for a long time but didn't think it was possible I Googled "transcoder", got many hits, but none look like the one you mentioned. Thanks.
AdmiralToguroAni Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 Actually, Mask was kind enough to give me the program. If you want to PM me, I'll be glad to give it to you. Count Dooku is the strongest Star Wars character as depicted in the movies. All hail Christopher Lee.
Jin_Roh Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Duh! I should have guessed it would be TheMask or one of the other in-house geniuses here. PM is on it's way. Thanks AdmiralToguro!
the_mask Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 thanks for the genius reference, Jin_Roh I'll put vakundok's program on my site, once I get time to finally finish that tutorial, but at the moment a lot of the links on it aren't even working. Or so I get told once or twice a month ToguroAni, during the briefing, at least in the sequences, that you replaced, you should see your new ones. However, if the briefing animation uses some pictures from alsprite (for non-moving scenes during the briefing) then those could lead to the effect you described http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
AdmiralToguroAni Posted May 12, 2005 Author Posted May 12, 2005 Okay. I'll go into Alsprite and replace all those entries and see if it works. Thanks. Count Dooku is the strongest Star Wars character as depicted in the movies. All hail Christopher Lee.
vakundok Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 It sounds as if the sequence still pictures would have been changed, but the animation frames did not. It was so long time ago, that I do not remember how that transcoder works, but you need to:- create a picture of the servbot.- copy it with an other name.- from these, create a single "blank" animation frame.- replace all animation entries (the entries between the pictures) with this blank frame. Or at least this is my guess.
