The lake it will create will be more than 500 KM wide, 165 meters deep; will drown more that 360 villages and 30 towns. It will be finished in 2009. The mass of water will be so big that it will change the axe of the earth (a bit like the Tsunami earth quake), and it will slow down the rotation of the earth, a year will be one second longer!Do you imagine the amount of water that means, and the power it will represent, China won't need to by any power in 10 years. But the bad thing about that is that because of the corruption in the country or some thing like that, the government decided to not use the best quality cement, but a lower grade one. This dam alone wont be enough to simply make all of China's energy needs disappear overnight. What really scares me is the thing about the cement. How can you build such a dangerous thing and not assure it.
