ImperialJoe985
Hey i just got the game finally off ebay and i was wondering if there are population limits on the game with say the amount of ships you can have at any one time or the amount of troops you can have if so can you tell me cause but if not great cause i hate population limits it ruins stratergy games!!!! Also let me know how big you ever got your fleet. Thanks Joe Do what must be done, do not hesitate show no mercy
Krytos
Not to my knolledge, in my latest game I've put the price of everything to a quater of what it use to be - so I've got 6 fleets with over 100 ships each, and several hundred fighter squadrons. My largest is something like 250+ ships and 500 or so fighter squadrons. Not to mention that everyone of my planets has at least 6 regiments as garrison, and I control half the core worlds as well as several rim sectors. The game engine does, however, experience lag once fleets start to reach these numbers. You'll find you send a fleet to a planet and nothing will happen for a few seconds, and then it'll move by itself http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
ImperialJoe985
They are some fleets you got there, you getting Empire at War when it comes out? I heard it will have no population limits either but will require a huge memory!!!
Krytos
Probably, though not when it comes out straight away - only due to Uni commitments.Judging from the graphics of the game, my gig of RAM, Radeon 9800 pro and AMD 64-bit 3000+ wont be able to go all out with my usual 100+ fleets. Oh well, I could always go buy some Alienware system with dual Hyperthreaded P4s, 3 gig of RAM, PCI Express and a quad set up of GeForce 6800 Ultras . . . but then again, that's only a dream http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif

Darktrooper
Population limit can work with army battles. But in rebellion, no limit. the limit should be your PC. Darktrooper
Yep. and in the planetary scale. The galactic scale can support epic space battles. "May the force be with the pizza guy. Aenivae_Ikeda
There is a limit, although there may as well not be one. There are only so many planets in the game, and each one is capable of building a certain amount of resource structures. Now lets say you control every single planet in the game, and all of them are maxed out. You can no longer build mines or refineries on any of your planets, but you still have an assload of resources. You build and build and build and build when finally your are out of resources, and you can't build any more mines or refineries. That would be a limit. Although you would be able to alter the limit by scraping buildings and building more mines or refineries and still continuing construction, but say you do that then eventually you would not have any shipyards, or training facilties, or construction yards, and this would serve as a limit. Those aren't official limits, but you can consider them to be. NIIIC
I noticed that if you get over a 1000 ships in the same fleet, the game starts to have severe problems. Of course, I used RebEd for that.
