SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted April 7, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 7, 2005 I was talking to Eville, just discussing the scale of Homeworld 2 to Nexus and such. Really Homeworld has a very large scale - a "defend the mothership / superweapon" design, individual ships really don't matter as much. Nexus has a smaller scale for its missions, really you only have a few ships and you try to preserve them. Each ship has a different role. I'm not offering any solutions, just discussion. From Tie Fighter and such, we have another scale where fighters are extremely strong. One can make the difference - namely, the player character. So its really going to be hard to translate some historical missions from the game into Homeworld. I expect we'll find some that are actually useful, but some missions will have to be altered or not used. -- I'm asking anyone with lots of free time, go through the X-Wing/Tie Fighter games and start laying out each mission.Which ships are there, what goals are done - how does it fit storyline-wise. Even a map will be good. Those will be one resource we can use to plan single player missions. If anyone things X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter or X-Wing Alliance will prove useful as well, I'd love to get some background on those. And anyone that actually has the Farlander Papers and Stele Chronicles (coming from X-Wing and Tie Fighter respectively), send them my way too!
