Hmm, I haven't used it so far, but it changes the .dat files, IIRC.

So perhaps you should copy the program into the GDATA folder and start it there, eh ?

Or copy your already unzipped file to there.

(Right click on Rebas.exe, from the menu choose copy, right click on the Gdata folder (in the directory where you have installed rebellion) and select paste.)

Darth-Griffin:

By using RebEd, you can assign the assasination mission to any rebel spec force. This is true. However, if the Rebas works, even rebel characters will be able to do that. Something that RebEd cannot do. Not to mention that if it works, it will open up the possibility for a "kill characters and destroy installations" (noghri + commando in one) spec force or a spec force capable to do diplomacy missions ...

Personally, I would like to see an Imperial Media Team ...

I tried copying it over to the GDATA folder, but it said that it was a read-only and wouldn't copy it over, and it wouldn't let me save it to the GDATA folder because I need to ask an administrator at home for that, and I have no clue how that works.

yea. I never had any problems with RebED except for finding it after downloading it. It works fine.

You do have a full installation of the game on your harddrive and you didn't try to copy the files onto the cd via the explorer, right ?

If you're using XP, then the explorer shouldn't even complain about copying write-protected files, otherwise you can right-click the files, go to properties and uncheck that option.

Hmm, the Rebas.exe in the download section is not write protected (read-only).

Here (I have recently upgraded to XP Home), there is a security note that it might be blocked by the operation system (and a button to prohibit that block). So, please zxxxi explain in detail, what did you do, and what is happening in detail. (I mean, you have downloaded the file Rebas.zip, right click and unpack all files, so there will be a rebas.exe. Right click on it and selecting properties, you see the following:)

BTW: There are 396 downloads, but noone has sent me a feedback, whether it works or not.

well it actually says when I try to paste: Files on this CD-ROM are read-only.

Ohh, that is the problem!

OK.

- From the Start Menu, select Search and then select Files and/or Folders

- It will ask for a filename, type capshpsd.dat

- It will find one or maximum two

- Check their paths. One of them will be on a hard drive in a directory like C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\Rebellion\GData (actually, this is (well, without the GData) where you have installed the game)

- You have to copy the program to this folder on the hard drive (into the GData subfolder where you have installed the game to), not to the CD

//Assuming that you have edited the captal ships with RebEd, you can also type capshpsd.sav instead of capshpsd.dat and it will find exactly one file.

And let me know what happens.

If it still says: "Files on this CD-ROM are read-only.", you did not follow the

So, where is your game installed into?

Please, edit the capital ships with RebEd. Does the GData subfolder contains the file capshpsd.sav?

Are you playing from CD or from an image?
