Ship Stats - What they mean

Hi, i have searched the forums but cant seem to find the answer to the following question.....

Using Rebed i can see all of the stats for the various Capital Ships. My question is what do each of the stats do, and what is the best way to edit them (up or down)

For instance: -

Hyperspace i know is better if you reduce the figure shown.

Whilst

Weapon Recharge seems to be the opposite (i think)

Could someone please clarify what each of the stats do and the best way to change them (poitive or negative)

Thanks :D

The first column is quite clear: Construction and Maintenance costs (lower them for faster building), Hull strength is how much damage your ship can take AFTER the shield is down, before it gets blown, damage control is how fast your ship gets repaired after a battle (raise that for faster recovery), Shield strength is how many blows your shield can take before collapsing, Shield recharge rate is how fast your shield will be raised after it gets hit a few times (if your shield is destroyed, it doesn't recharge).

Detection Rate, I'm not sure, but the higher the better :D , Hyperdrive is how fast your ship goes from planet to planet (lower is better), while Sublight speed is how fast your ship moves during a tactical battle (Higher is better). Maneuverability helps you escape some shots and tractor beams, and you turn around faster (Higher is better). Fighter and troop capacities are obvious, and Weapon recharge rate is how fast your ship fires (higher is better).

It is very difficult to balance the stats... better leave them be, or change them carefully..

Thanks Fluros. 8)

I'm looking to increase the weapons recharge rate. Will increase the entire imperial fleet as a whole so as to finish off the pesky rebels all the faster.

When I play alone against the computer, I usually:

- Lower the building and maintenance cost, to build faster,

- Don't change the Shield strength and recharge rate, detection,Troop and Fighter capacity stats,

- I usually keep the hyperdrive as it is, but increase the sublight speed, so that the tactical battle is faster... A good way is to raise All ships's sublight by 3-4, so the balance stays the same

- I leave maneuverability and weapon stats as they are,

- I always increase the weapon Recharge rate. It makes the tactical battle faster, more realistic and more interesting...

Isn't that Hardcoded into the game. Better ask Mask about it.

Which I suspect is probably the right answer...

However one attempts to adjust stuff with the editor it doesn't seem to have any effect on the Death Star. I once gave the Death Star a 360 degree laser cover of about 2500; range about 49 or something and one still got blown up; all for the 'added bonus' of automatically eliminating a capital ship at the start of a tactical battle. Since 1999 i've only ever had one battle where the Death Star has fired twice. Prehaps i'm to paranoid and should move it from Coruscant more often.:?::arrow::idea:
