Mace Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Hi newbie question alert How do i use the .rsc cards in the card area. There are a few there that i would like to introduce to the game. I can see that you have to use Rebed to change the basic pictures, however the ingame graphics still look like the original ships. Am i doing something wrong? Plus is there a way to add new ships witout removing any of the old ones? Thanks. http://diplomats-empire.com/forum/images/Mace-banner.jpg
Mad78 Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Okay so to load the card you have to go into the capital ship section of RebEd and select load card. The reason that only the main picture is changed must be that the guy who made the card only bothered to change that pic.No you cannot add ships to the ones already existing. Though i am wondering if we couldn't code to the game to add some ships.Coders! Mask! You are needed here! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
the_mask Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Yup, what the man said. *sigh* but adding stuff can't be done without the source code. We've discussed this topic several times and I think TF even wrote a song about it, once. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

Begs the question... Why bother making the card in the first place then http://diplomats-empire.com/forum/images/Mace-banner.jpg
Jahled Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 The reason that only the main picture is changed must be that the guy who made the card only bothered to change that pic. Begs the question... Why bother making the card in the first place then Makes sense; but perhaps the cardmaker was just starting out or getting to grips with what card you're on about! Sure, the database is drenched with loads of rubbish, but in a strange way, this is a positive reflection of the game's original magic! Unless you are reprograming stuff or what not, you don't have to be a boffin to contribute to basic stuff like new cards, and especially cards that mean something to an individual personally in their own vision of the SW universe. Not everybody can claim to be artists or know how to handle stuff like Photoshop all the way, but contributions are exactly that all the same; little puffs of someone elses' imagination which I think is cool, despite a great deal of it being untouchable in my own personnal games.. My first cards were absolute graphic crap! But I stayed the course and got a bit better. http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0TAChAgMYereWPsBdW3pMNqA9kqmCgqXtxmEuFKQMYTvm!2oTbVP0DRAMMd5wOIysktp9HHpqY2ZeDFcb4NN5egIiIjB6xOZ9uP8i3zYLJhzPhIet656R7w/Jahled_Destroyer.gif This, Imperial Jahled Class Destroyer, found life after a six pack and one hell of a boring day... Sithlordmichael Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 the Cards change the icon and name and the model changes the ship
Grensjager Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Hello to everyone, Last week I rediscovered my rebellion game. By accident I game up on this site/forum. After reading for a week most of my problems are solved, but in this old topic I saw the same about my remaining problem. I downloaded several beautifal cards en was ready to put them in my game using the tools I found on this site, and there comes the problem. After using the model importer it was time to load a card using rebed. The shipcard I used is only part working. When I click the button load card there comes a pop-up saying cannot load gokres.dll while this file is in my rebellionfile. When I start the game the picture in the encyclopedia had indeed changed into the loaded card, however the other ingame pictures do not change, and the game is letting the old ship see. The same pop-up comes to my screen when I'm trying to load other cards, like an other card for Daala. In this topic I have read about there have not been made ingame pictures for a card, but that is not the problem. Using the cardviewer I can see that the ingame pictures are indeed new ones. In rebed the picture of the ship let me see the new card, but the 3d models turning and standing will not change. By the way, the system I am using is vista. Does anyone know why the gokres.dll file cannot be opened when I am trying to load a card? Is this file needed in system32 perhaps?
Barracuda_Magoo Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Like you, I just rediscovered this game and got the same error with "gokres.dll" when trying to install Rebellion Reloaded. Go to your rebellion directory and find gokres.dll. Open up its properties and go to the security tab. Then select each listing in the "Group or user names" box and click the "edit" button just below to give "full control." The next time you try to load in Rebed you should get a different error instead of gokres.dll; just repeat the process for each new file that gives an error (I think you'll have to do this about 5 times, but I didn't write down which files they were when I was doing this). That should solve that problem, but I can't help you with the cards.
Grensjager Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 It seems that now my problem is solved. I have given all the permissions for dll files, en now comes in rebed the message card is loaded. When I check in in the game the ingame pictures I ment have also changed. Thanks very much for the help.
