I made the Official Spiffy Award! I was actually trying to make another, better Toaster (Or rather, one half of a toaster so that I could mirror it) but the cut tool was dissagreeable, leading me to make this rather neat looking flanged object. I did some texture work (IE modified the rendering I had for my toaster) and created this. Enjoy, recipients.

Interesting.

Are all the spiky bits supposed to be all at one end?:lol:

Perhaps that's what a Corellian Ramming Frigate looks like? *Serious*

All I've got are one of my Starfighter 'MS Paint specials.'

(Note this is a modified version of a basic fighter I made back in '99 based on the A-wing.)

DOUBLE POST!

('cause I need another for 800 posts. )

More MS Paint.

TFX - 92 ( Phase 1 )

A spin off of the experimental TF-86-X Recon varients and the first working vehicle produced by the Katana class starfighter design program. Though far diffrient from it's successor, the TF-92 Katana visiably, the X-92 shares 80% of the internal systems and hardware. The larger bulkier engies provided not only enough power for it's twin 20mm Vulcan MAA's, but for high output particle beams as well. These new systems pioneered the way for Terran starfighters to once again become the feared anti-capital ship menace they had been more than a millenia before.

(Yes, I'm a big fan of the forward swept wing.)

EDIT: Saturday January 6 2006

I won't abide my own throwing in of a tripple post here so an edit it is.

TFX - 92 ( Phase 2 )

Second working vehicle produced by the Katana class starfighter design program. This protopype was built to test a scaled down version of the swing wings the Production fighter would use. Also being tested was how the addition of a third sublight engine affected performance. In the end, total power output was high enough that the program designers felt confident they could someday build an FTL system for it. As it was, this prototype once again displayed a marked improvment in firepower over the previous prototypes.

(Edit2%3A%20Image%20screwed.%20Will%20attempt%20tomorrow.)

(Undo dammit! Why won't you undo more than 4 steps!?!?)

TFX - 92 ( Phase 3 )

Third working vehicle produced by the Katana class starfighter design program. This protopype would not have been built if not for the direct order High Admiral Darson. Upon finding out that it might be possible to fit a combat fighter with an FTL system, he directed the designers to build a working model as soon as possible. With fleet command calling for the immediate deployment of new starfighters the TF-92-A was rushed into production before this prototype was completed. The prototypes first FTL jump attempt was a success thanks to the designers redundant power cell backups. Future jumps were tried with a variety of re-configurations to the power systems. All of these advancements were compiled in time to be included when the TF-92-B model went into production.

The Terran Alliance could now stage starfighter raids against any target within 12 hours travel of a planetary base.

I didn't want to make a tripple post, (blasphemy!) but here we go.

BUMP!

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/TF-92-AAlphaKatana.gif

A greatly fixed and cleaned up version of the original Katana class starfighter I drew back in 2003.

There's SOOOO many problems I can see with this design now it's freaky. This image isn't so much new as it's been refurbished.

Heavily refurbished.

TF-92-A

Katana class Heavy multi-role fighter

The 'A' version was rushed into production well before some rather major bugs were solved or even discovered in some cases. Power system reliability could cause losses of vital equipment in the heat of battle. Thrust vectoring systems that were produced too hastily or cheaply could fail in several ways, most being fatal. Recharge rates of the particle beams were slower than they were first touted as being. Even the sensor packeges for the missile launchers could lose calibration mid-mission.

Despite all of it, thousands were still produced and many pilots chose to take their chances with the tempermental beast of a fighter. When operating properly the new fighters could outclass any other fighter available at that time.

The hard work and modifications made by engineers held the fighters together long enough for new equipment to be issued.

All 'A' models were recalled for upgrade or replacement once suficient 'B'models had been distributed to the fleet. Nearly all were returned to service after modification, and still saw use for years later.

Pencil Drawing of a later model.

I only drew one half of the thing and hadn't copied and flipped it for the other half until today. Some editing was done but I tried to leave most of it alone.

Blarg, it looks a lot wider than it's supposed to.

Thanks chaps, but has no one noticed what book the little fella was reading prior to needing some more kitten-sleep?

I noticed  I may have to visit the library again soon :D The 1955 movie with Kirk Douglas was most awesome

Okay here is the first part of the script i am working on. I am working it into the shape of a series with several main characters who may not appear in each episode. I shall see how things evolve once i have finished this script but there is a strong chance i shall make a fanfilm with it.
