I have found out today that i have been contaminated no less than 7 times with the Swizzor virus

It has caused my computer to crash a massive amount of time.

I first have something that would be adressed to the creator of the virus even if he doesn't surf on these forums.

The message will be censured

Listen you little  %*3er how dare you **** up my computer! Haven't you got anything to do of your ****ing life instead of crapping up the online enjoyement of other people. I don't give a **** if it makes you "popular" with your online "friends". I have mates online And do not find the need to make viruses to prove to them that i can do something. Since you are capable of programming why not make something usefull instead of this ****! You should be bloody ashamed of yourself! We had better never meet in person. **** you!

If somebody knows who made this virus please relay the UNCENSORED version of this message to him.

And does anybody know a way to avoid this virus?

Whoa! Someone's really angry here.

Calm down. Go kick a ball, give some punches to the sandbag.

Meanwhile I've searched about that virus of yours, it's a rather recent Trojan. (22-11). A firewall can help to keep it from connecting to the Net, and an updated adware detector might help to prevent getting it. Once it's in this might help to eliminate it: http://www.scanspyware.net/info/Win32.Swizzor.br.htm

Best way to avoid a virus, is to not get it in thte first place man. :P
I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.

Hm, I couldn't find it on symantec's online database or a removal tool for it. But as Trej said, get a firewall, that blocks most of the stuff from the outside, before it can even reach your computer.

That and the part about the sandbag sounded like a good idea

There'll always be people, who want to cause havoc with other people's property and most lack the "ethics" of the first such groups. You can only bolt down every backdoor, so that their scanners will lose interest in your pc and move on to the next ip. :|

I always thought that Firefox wasn't really targeted by viruses and trojans... :?
