Hiya people! I think it's time we took RebED and it's help files to the next level! There are several help pages that aren't written yet and I bet there's some improvement we can make to RebED as well!

Well mostly I'd like to see something backward compatible. But my attempts to crack the RebED card system have been failures.

 

So we can make this really new, but probably won't have use of the old cards.

Okay. Could you please specify this somewhat...

 

1. What exactly do you mean by backward compatible?

 

2. Why would you want to crack the RebED card system? What would we gain with regard to loading a card?

 

3. Why do you need use of the old cards? Templates?

1. He means being able to still use the old cards. There are loads of them and you'll probably find nobody, who'd convert hundreds or perhaps over a thousand cards to a new format

 

2. That something I and even vakundok couldn't do yet as well. From what I saw I believe, that the bmps are somewhat compressed RLE bmps, though. Who knows ?

With the knowledge of how the cards were made you could of course make your own ones and load the old versions into a new program.

 

3. Well, umm .... see point 1. and the second half of 2. for that

 

 

The cards are really what stops this all. The rest is all doable, somehow

I say scrap the old card system, if that's really all that's between us and another editor.

If someone wants to use the old cards, well, it's not like RebED won't be around, so you can load them with RebED and continue from there with "The-Almighty-Editor-Of-The-Future", no?

I agree. Rebed would still be online. We could even have 2 separate section for cards....

I'm not entirely sure I know what's going on, but doing somekind of edit with the cards may not be such a bad thing... sorted the executive class ones from the shop floor ones in terms of quality... however you would need broadband, which allas I don't have.
