Quintisv Posted December 13, 2004 Share Posted December 13, 2004 Huge Star wars fan here, many a year ago when I LA was making a Strategy game, I almost passed out,,,,, Anywho, I got the game in '97 and played it to death, played it much longer than I would like to admit (seeing as how it takes maybe a few days to completely dominate it, and take away any real challenge). Last year tried to load the game up for a run, found out my CD was scratched to hell..... Q: Other than the RebEd Cards that let you put in new ships, characters, etc. etc. Is there any new Mods out there that improve/alter the gameplay? I'm only asking because I'm reluctant to shell out to buy a new copy of the game, if I end up buying it only for a few hours of nostalgia. (especially since people are still paying 25$ and up for the game,,, even on ebay, quite a suprise after all these years). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Other than that, I havent seen anything as of yet which would alter the gameplay. I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. So, that said, there is Rebellion Re-loaded comming out in the near future, a community created mod/total conversion with many a great mind working on it. I suggest you hold out for that, as it promisses to make great changes. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. That means, all sounds, all animations, all characters, ships, troops, spec forces, buildings will be updated. Our progress is about 70% now. We need to get the movies finished and we are looking for some voice avtors for the mod. If anybody can help us with voices, please report in! We need non-tactical lines like the advisor droid or the voice of C'baoth. Quintisv Posted December 15, 2004 Author Share Posted December 15, 2004 OMG OMG WOHOOOOOOOOOOOO I remember that quite some time ago, I stumbled upon Reb Ed, and used it abit in game, but I didn't care for it all that much really, because no matter how hard you squinted, it was hard to imagine the in game models during the battles to be any different than whatever stock ship they already represented. Time to bury it. Cool. People's interest in this and that comes and goes. Personally i'm still amazed at how Rebellion is still my favourite game, despite it's age. Graphic wise it's not a cascade of optical delight, game play isn't intensive and in your face; it's actually quite mellow in at times stressfull way, and the GAME DOESN'T CONSIST OF LEVELS!!!!! YAY! I can have an ongoing game in a SW Universe I can tinker how I want ongoing on my HD in the background for as long as I want. Call me blinkered but I can't put my finger on another SW game that enables me to assemble fleets of Star Destroyers; name them how I wish, fill them with regiments of AT-ATs and Stormtroopers, and assign individual characters with command ranks, oh and roam the galaxy in search of worlds to Imperialize. Some people get off on games where you rush around shooting things, driving extremely recklacely, or bashing other people up with mystical martial arts or what ever!
