Question

Hello All,
I'm new here, not new to the game...been playing for years but I had though everyone gave it up and stopped playing so I've been doing single player...guess I was wrong. I'm pretty pumped about finding some new people to play with, and I got another buddy too who I'm gonna get to come here.
The problem is on my new computer with Win XP, I can't get the game started. It installed fine, DirectX 9.0c was updated...yet the game work initiallize. I've set it's compatibility to Win 95 and set 256 colours 800x600 resoltion etc...but it won't enter the game.
What happens is the screen goes black, like with all games on my computer as it loads the game, and it does go into 800x600 res. But then I get an error telling me the game has to close. The error isn't specified. it asks me to send the report to Microsoft...
any advice? Thanks, hope to be playing with you all soon.
