TRAITORS (especially Garm)

Question

Posted

Can anyone tell me why Garb keeps going traitor for the alliance.

He's turned traitor in 50% of my alliance games!

He went early this time (day 100).

Should I just retire him as soon as I recruit him? (i really want to, he revealed my secret base on the outer rim this time)

Any other characters that often go over?

How do you know that he revealed your base? Oh and it is Garm not Garb

Do not count a human dead until you've seen his body, and even then you can make a mistake. - Bene Gesserit saying

Yeah, but you forget, that if the planet where your HQ is orbiting is not fully supporting you, then there is a good chance, that you will be sold out

Never leave Han Solo on a planet/fleet of any importance whatsoever. Whenever he is attacked by bounty hunters he always gives away info to the enemy. I was so furious one time he revealed my HQ that I nearly retired him (instead i settled for sending him on all my super impossible missions)

How do you know it was Solo?

'cause that's one of the features of the game. Even if the famous Bounty Hunters don't manage to caoture Solo, they bring back information about his location, even if the Empire hadn't explored that system yet...

So Han is really as dangerous as a traitor, although he's completely loyal... poor him...

It is! I think it tells you that in the manual.

Besides, I've played as the Empire a have a message indicating where Solo is... On time I found the Alliance HQ from that.

... This reminds of that 'Bug or Feature' or something thread ...

I guess Han giving away that sensitive data as the Rebel HQ location is a bug, though for the Imperial player it's a nice feature...

I was simply assuming that.
Which hardly makes it a fact...

You think?! But is it truly thus?

One time?! This proves that you get messages where Solo is, not that he himself is leaking information...

i can't remember seeeing anybody saying that han was leaking information they where saying that by the bounty hunters trying to kidnap him it can inadvertantly(sp?) give away locations of important things like the reb HQ or that invasion fleet you've been massing for 300 days

Sorry Scathe...I remember seeing info on this Han Solo event from the official strategy guide as well as the Lucasarts site (before they brought it down... ). When the Bounty Hunters fail to capture Han, they send a message to the Empire detailing where he his. This acts as if the Empire had done an espionage mission on the planet, detailing everything about the system. It's not Han leaking the info; it's the bounty hunters. I'll look up the specific entry for you, if you'd like.

Five of the Greatest Lines in the Star Wars Trilogy ;)

-"As you wish..."

-"He's no good to me dead..."

-"What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me."

-"Put Captain Solo in the Cargo Hold"

-"AaaaaAAaaaaaa!!"

han always has jabba's price on his head. bounty hunters are always after him. it says that in the manual, and its true, its part of the game. and why would you have somebody as good at espionage and combat as han anywhere in the outer rim? get his ass into the core. make up a fleet where he, chewy, luke, and your other personnel good at sabotage and espionage can scoot from planet to planet and cause real havoc, disrupting the empire's abilities to put fleets, defenses, and manufacturing bases together. use him as that fleet's admiral and luke as your commander while you engage over hostile worlds, then unleash their abilities on everything on that system. raising their stats higher. maybe use him to move people around at top speed in the Falcon, but don't waste him and his abilities sitting around a secret base doing nothing or just in a command rank, that is useless for him. if you're going to do that, take leia away from doing diplomacy and put here there to do nothing too. the bounty hunters will give away your secrets when they attack him, but at least that way he and leia might make some jedi babies in the process :P

Off topic: My god! 33 posts in one day, and none of them SPAM!!! This has to be a record, or at least a great achievement!

Oh, and you've got a lot of good points - now if I can get some time to read them . . .
