Unagi353 Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Ok, i'm seeing soem sigs and feeling jelious, so i think ist time to start a collection of good quotes. For the politically active"What good fortune for leaders that men do not think." - Hitler"Why do we kill people, who kill people to show them that killing people is wrong?" - Bumper Sticker Wisdom (almost to parr with Jedi insight)One can not similtaniously keep peace while prepairing for war - Einstein Pious people (haha go atheism)Stand on a hill, in the middle of a lightning storm, in wet copper armor, and yell FU@# GOD. When nothing happens, you have earned a degree in quantum Physics for disprooving the esistance of god (and you have huge balls) - My old BF forum sig The Inscription... Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate Through me you enter into the city of woes,Through me you enter into eternial pain,Through me you enter the population of loss. Justice moved my high maker, in Power divine, wisdome supreme, love primal. No things wereBefore me not eternial; eternial i remainABANDON ALL HOPE, YOU WHO ENTER HERE. Respect the gates of hell... Dante's Inferno... War is the continuation of politics by other means...
Guest Scathane Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 And why exactly would you have proved the none-existence of God?
Mad78 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 The exisctence (or non-existence) is a touchy subject. It is impossible to prove it exists but also impossible to prove it doesn't. Its all a question of faith. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

Its all a question of faith. Jeez! This has got to be the most enlightening post I ever read in these forums! What I meant by my question was: how does the quote concerned prove it even if you follow its logic?
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 While I'm a non-believer, I agree with Scath. You could just be proving that god is indifferent to idiots wearing metal on a hill in a lightning storm. That, and you'd probably only get a degree in theology or philosophy. Physicists don't really care about God. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Mad78 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I too am a non-believer. Since physics are to do with things that are composed a physical mater (atoms) it is clear they do not care about the fact that some people think that there is a geeza keeping an eye on your every movement. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Stellar_Magic Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I'm a believer, yeah I know... All that idiot has prozen is this: "God looks after fools and small children." -Unknown. Paul Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I am a Catholic although I haven't been to mass in a long time. I find comfort in believing that there is something or someone looking out for me, especially with all of my medical problems. Having been given only about ten years to live (as of last year) I hope that there is something after life. I do not have a problem with non-believers to each his or her own.-Grand Moff Conway
Trejiuvanat Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I'm not much a believer myself. I do think, that you cannot logically conclude the existence of God or of a Supreme Being. The logic we use is the logic of mankind, and God, as a superior being, would be above it and above our comprehension. Unlike Physics and Science when you actually can expect to broaden the horizon of our knowledge and in time understand things that are not quite clear now, in theology/philosophy you can only expect newer idologic currents, newer interpretations, but we will never be free of our human perspective. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest Scathane Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Having been given only about ten years to live... Come again???!!!
Mad78 Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 This can't be true! Tell us your kidding http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Paul Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Sorry guys but I was not kidding. I am in the later stages of kidney disease and have had diabetes for over 32 years and it has taken its toll on my body and organs. I spent most of July and part of August in the hospital from various problems related to diabetes degeneration. But only time will tell, I'm a tough old bird and may yet live longer than the doctors guess. -Grand Moff Conway
Guest Scathane Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 That sucks, man! How do you deal with it?
Paul Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Well I take it day to day. This site keeps my spirits up quite a bit, which is one reason I donated the money even though I could not afford it. Also I write back and forth with Jahled and that keeps life interesting as we both have cats. My cats are my children as I never married or had children of my own. My family helps me out as well, I live with my father and grandmother.-Grand Moff Conway
Jahled Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Woo again to Grand Moff Paul! Cats, despite being fluffy with big fluffy ears, are also sinister, the more so when they are kittens. They also disprove the existance of God. Put one in your ear and you'll get to hear the rocks and pebbles muttering. It's true I swear!* *May not in fact be true. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
