Whats your favorite Radio show?

So what is it. If you have several say so. Anby kinda show is allowed may it be Music, Humor, Drama, ... anything. It can also be shows who do not broadcast anymore.

 

My Favorite would have to be the Goon Show an old radio show who had Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe in it. I still roar over old recordings of it.

Yes, it's Dutch and it means Evers in the morning (Evers is a name).

Well besides the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, there's an old bavarian radio show, that has me rolling on the floor.

It's called: ein Münchner im Himmel and is about a Bavarian (from Munich of course, given the title), who dies and arrives in heaven to become an angle. So much for the theory...

 

I think the greatest bit is when he's supposed to play the harp while frolicking and just sits there on his cloud and goes from "Halelujah" to abreviated forms like "lujah", "damn it, lujahhh I say man, lujahh."

Hearing it with that accent of course lends much more comic to it.

After god hears him and asks him, why in heaven he's shouting so much, the Bavarian rants about that there's no beer and tobaco, that he doesn't like to sing all day on a cloud and so on ...

God, in his wisdom sees, that there'd be only one way to give this soul its peace an decides to send his divine advice via the grumpy angle to the Bavarian government. This way he'll see Munich once or twice a week and hopefully be more content with his afterlife.

But as soon as the Bavarian lands he sits down in the Hofbräuhaus and has one beer after the next.

 

The story ends with the words : "and so, the Bavarian government waits until today in vain for the divine advice"

Another radio show i love is Les 2 Minutes du Peuple translation: The 2 minutes of the people. it a series of sketches who are absolutely hilarious. I also have a link for that but since N3C and I are the only french speakers (I think we are ) I won't bother.

Wow, I didn't know there were so many different radio shows still out there. Since I only listen to one (two if I can't get a signal from the first) radio station, which is all music, I don't really listen to "shows". The closest thing is segments which focus on different styles of classical music.

I'm partial to the German/Austrian composers, as well as some of the Neo-Classical (Classical music written in the 20th century) composers, such as Vaugn Williams. You can listen to my station here.

We had a show a bit like that over here. The guy made about 1500 2 minutze sketches and took on just about everything. One of my favorite

Two police officers are getting bored.

O 1: How do you do that?

O 2: simple you simply call the tv station and see how long they take to diffuse the info. Switch on the TV.

Picks up the telephone

O 2: A bank has just been attacked on sideway road.

TV : We have just been told a bank has been attacked on sideway road

O 1: Let me try! A chase is happening in the center of the city.

TV: And a chase is happening in the middle of the city.

O 1: Hi Hi listen to this one. A Madman has just entered the president's office.

TV: We are told the president has just entered his office.

Yup, it's pretty much the only music I listen to. Well, I listen to soundtracks for movies that are orchestral. People tend to think that because something is done with an orchestra it is classical. It's not really. Mozart is Romantic, Beethoven was Classical, Vivaldi was Renaissance, as was Bach. Blast modern media and their simplification!

I've also bee known to listen to Opera, but my tastes in that are very restricted. I like the Three Tennors, but not many else.

Oh, and I also like Micheal Buble, who does Senatra-like music.

None of that is on topic thought so: I listen to the above on the radio. Few, wouldn't want to be responsible for getting us off topic .

Since you are british like me you may know the goon show. Do you?

I prefer techno music. Which doesn't mean I hate classical. Sadly we do not get that kind of music over here.

 

Maybe if i find the time i shall post some more of the sketches.

I still listen to the Goons they were great in their day. Not keen on Techno, prefer Goth/Gary Numan/Bowie/Alternative.

No, the 'Squirrel Nut Zippers' are like a bizarre 30's type jazz/blues/Edwardian Tea dance band . They are FAB!!!!!
