Names and Rank

So I got all my new characters 90% the way I want them (some bmps need to be touched up) and all of a sudden, I give them rank and their old name leaks through. I remember someone saying they found how to hack that. Any pointers? Or do I just look through all the files with the Resource Hacker until I find one that says the character names in the midst of a lot of gibberish code? (I found the planet encyclopedia entries like that. I had to make Alderaan. Is Alderaan in the same sector as Ord Mantel and Firro? I can't actually find anyplace that lists Alderaan's sector, except some history that said some character from Alderaan was off surveying a nearby system that happens to be in the same sector as Ord Matel. So I'm operating off of an assumption).

Um, let's see ... the ranks are in the textstra.dll, in the str "folder"

and a complete Star Wars galaxy map can be found at http://www.nav-computer.com (site seems to have a slight problem at the moment)

Something i've noticed with changes you make with Resource Hacker making alterations with character's ranks etc, is that if you load settings afterwards they can sometimes 'slip' back into original game names or chop bits off renamed ranks; for example 'Grand Admiral Thrawn' would become 'Grand Thrawn.'

I know not why, so I don't ever load settings once i've got a game underway. If, at game start I want a quick fleet of six ISDs I alter the stats back and fourth without loading settings.
