the_mask Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Love that avatar vakundok, it brings back a lot of memories dwr00, if you overwrite one of the 05s in a block of "05 00 00 1C" with 08, then you should have a Tie Defender, where there was a normal Tie before. That's the way this mostly works. By the way, if you downloaded UltraEdit, then there is an option to add some bytes in hex, but it's in the upper menu, so you can overlook it quite easily. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

One day I'll understand what you guys do here, in the meantime I'll nod and say: Good job... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
vakundok Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 I am surprised. I thought it was an exclusively "socialist" memory and noone would recognize it. (Not to mention that my drawing skills are not up to the task.) dwr00: Sadly tests shown that it is not possible to add another ship(s) to the basic starting fleets. Sorry.
the_mask Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Nah, they also showed it in capitalistic Germany's shows for youngsters. Otherwise me and Trej wouldn't have immediately recognized the little mole.Hope he'll still be on some channel when I got offspring some day Trej, if you download UltraEdit from the link above and open the mentioned files in hexmode (the H letter in UE), then you'll quickly see the patterns we described above. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
dwr00 Posted November 6, 2004 Author Posted November 6, 2004 Well, I fiddled around and got my starting death star. I put the maintainance to 1 so they don't scrap it, but jacked up the cost to build it. I want to try the "traitor" program someone mentioned earlier in the thread, but I don't know where to find it.
vakundok Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 It is part of the 'Protectorate: The empire strike back' in the 'Total Conversion' section of the downloads. If you want to see what the AI is doing ...

Jahled Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Being a bit slow, i've just picked up on this thread, and am stunned at certain dudes from Germany and Hungary have been disecting from the game's files... Any chance of somekind of of lovely little prgrame that might enable the challenged PC-wise(such as me) to exploit your discoveries in a game? http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif

the_mask Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Umm, yeah. I have a concept in mind, but currently no time to program it. What it definately should contain is a "memory" of the standard settings, that will just overwrite the files with the original values. Kind of like the default button in RebEd. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
vakundok Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I do not have the time either.Mask: Do it like RebEd does. Check the existence of a .sav file. If exists, it is the original, if does not, create and copy the .dat file into it. (In the 'old' times the function 'access' made that check.)
