Stellar_Magic
The Star Forge is the superweapon from Knights of the Old Republic, a device powered by the force which strips matter from nearby stars and fuses it together to replicate war materials. Another thing that would be very similar to the Raporan Replicator would be a world devestator. But the Raporan Replicator is armed and has the capability to loose a directed jet of plasma which can burn the atmosphere away from a world or slice through a warship. The device also contains technologies and capablities nearly identical to that of Centerpoint station. Basically, its a superweapon that dwarfs all other super weapons. BadSamaritan
Nice to know that... Oreton here, load all personnel we're leaving this galaxy Im with you on this one. Lets say we go explore some other galaxy? One without superweapons? I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
Stellar_Magic
Yeah well, Superweapons have always been part of Star Wars. Fortunately a bunch of the Rapora's weaknesses cancel out the biggest benefits of the weapon. 1. A very limited population means that their fleet can never grow to gargantuin proportions unless they recruit others. 2. An overreliance on droid technology to ease crew problem make them very susceptabile to sabotage operations. Example, the Kar Lur class Cruiser only carries about 240 Rapora Warriors. The Replicator probably only 700 or so. So a well planned commando operation is almost certain to destroy the Replicator. Plus all the weakness inherit with a World Devestator. BadSamaritan
With such a reliance on droid tech, Im willing to bet a well placed Ion bomb would mess them up pretty good..... Stellar_Magic
Yeah but what story would there be in that... The Rapora lust for glory through battle, much the same way as trandoshans do, but unlike them, the Rapora are cunning, merciless and ambitious. They once were the armed branched of the infinite empire, the empire which had once controlled the entirty of the Galaxy through the force and iron will. Once it fell the Rapora were faced with no choice but to flee to a world in the unknown regions. They are all dark side adepts, but have a fanatical allegiance to the leader, whom is often refered to by them as 'the timeless one'. You'll learn more about him later. He is behind an elaborate plan to bring the downfall of the GFFA and the restoration of the Infinite Empire. You'll notice several similarities between Raporan Technology and the Sith tech from KOTOR. Because the sith equipment produced by the star forge was the ancestor of modern Raporan equipment. Stellar_Magic
Well if you did, a couple of the coming plot twists will be rather obvious. No I'm not bringing ST ships into the RPG, I had Rapora in the stories though. NOTE: Cain just resurrected the thread, begging for more stories...I don't have the time! Trejiuvanat
Mara's Dad? Has Luke lost any students to the dark side lately? Was Anakin Solo resurrected? Another Palpy clone? Stellar_Magic
Lets see... Trej's first guess...Mara's Dad?Nope. Trej's second guess...Has Luke lost any students to the dark side lately?Yes, but this guy isn't one of them. Trej's third guess...Was Anakin Solo resurrected?Close, very close, but not quite on target. Then he guessed...Another Palpy clone?I hate Palpy clones...thats why the Timeless One isn't a clone (Resurrected). So I must say no, wrong. Finally...Stellar Magic in his Jedi disguise?I wish... Trejiuvanat
Lets see... Trej's first guess...Mara's Dad?Nope. That's what happens when Mara is the first person you think of, that owns a purple Lightsaber. Trej's second guess...Has Luke lost any students to the dark side lately?Yes, but this guy isn't one of them.Who has he lost recently? Trej's third guess...Was Anakin Solo resurrected?Close, very close, but not quite on target.Close you say. Let's see Anakin owned a purple lightsaber, he knows both of them. The clothing suggest Jedi in a way. His suspicion of Mara I don't understand, nor his "Fool I am Sith" to Malice. I doubt he's a clone of him. Now you've really intrigued me. Then he guessed...Another Palpy clone?I hate Palpy clones...thats why the Timeless One isn't a clone (Resurrected). So I must say no, wrong.Good I didn't like them either. Finally...Stellar Magic in his Jedi disguise?I wish... How true. BTW, when MysteriousMan with the Purple swords talks to Shren and Malice he says something like: "Do your Master's biddings elsewhere." Who are Malice's and Shren's Masters??? Yet one other subplot carefully hidden from us for the next edition of Rapora Jeopardy with Stellar Trebek??? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Stellar_Magic
Their Master is the "Timeless One", though Shren has an independent streak a mile wide... Here's a clue as to how close you were with the Anakin guess. If you changed one word, you'd be right. Or if you want a really big clue... "I will conquer death!" (Who said this?) Trejiuvanat
Young arrogant teenage Jedi Dilettante Anakin Skywalker. Though he seems quite cool, very much un-Lucas-like. Why are we "resurrecting" so many people these days? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Stellar_Magic
Cause Rapora Wars was based on a possible plot I had for Episodes 7-9. It also pulls together all the fragments Lucas left in Episode I with the talks of a prophecy, and how such a powerful sith lord could appear out of nowhere. Links the the story to the era of KOTOR and to the mithical Infinite Empire. Gives Palpatine a motive other then just power, a goal of not establishing a Galactic Empire, but restablishing one from millenia before. Wraps up the "Anonymous Enemy" the Chiss, General Fel, and Admiral Parck always speak of. And as you will see, gives a war which has the depth in the characters which Lucas always seems to lack, along with a complete explanation of the prophecy itself. "One born from the force itself will face the darkness of everlasting chaos and join, then defy them. He, dying and returning will repeal the conflict within the force, and establish a balance that will be continue forever, breaking the viscious cycle of death for all." Trejiuvanat
Interesting... Very intersting. Indeed it adds more depth to the story, especially the Anakin part. ALthough I kinda frown on the byblical reference. (I know that the stories of journeys to the lands of the death precede the bible, but the dying and resurrecting is too Jesus-like). Is he really alive or is Anakin in a Kenobi-like state? Defying death only through an "ethereal" existence in this universe? Or is he just as alive as Luke? BTW that last quote, where's that from? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Stellar_Magic
I made it up... Well, considering some of the near bible like stuff that perpetrates star wars, it shouldn't be that surprising, its based on myth, throughout. Anakin truly is a reincarnation, but he also has more control of himself now.
