Krytos
Sorry Krytos! I wont do it again! *promise* Â Hehe, I guess this it what it's like to be a moderator http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Phytho
Hey what is actually involved in being a moderator and what kind of stuff do you have to look out for? (In other word, What can I get away with without getting in trouble and irritating people too much?)
Krytos
Hmm . . . not really sure exactly what the moderators do. What I do know they basically stop any swearing for starters - that's a big no no. They try to stop spamming, though that really depends on the thread and what's being spammed about. Hmm, I think the other thing they stop is stupid posting - like arguments that are getting ugly, posts about nothing or stupid topics. They're pretty lenient and will give you a warning if you do something wrong. Just remember, this site is viewed by people of all ages - so make comments appropriate. It's a forum and not a chat room, so don't spam and try to let others comment (remember time zones ). Don't attack others, if they upset you reply in a calm manner telling them what they've done, but don't dwell on the problem. If someone keeps annoying you either over a thread or PM, don't take it into your own hands - contact a moderator.Yeah, that's about it http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Phytho
Gee! sounds like a fair bit of responsibility. But I totally agree with you about the sort of things you have to stop. I mean if those sort of things were in this site then I would have left and probably never come back within about 2 minutes of reading that sort of thing, especially swearing. tchar
I don't think thats really such a good attitude either, phytho. I mean, sure swearing isn't any good, and it's fine to get upset about it, but if you leave (or don't join in the first place because of it), then you're letting them win, and letting them dictate what you do. I reckon the best way to go about it is to simply acknowledge that it's there, that its only a few people that are making the rest look bad, and from then on ignore it or do something about it (complain, etc...). But don't let it make you decide what you want to do and where. That's my little philosophy lecture for the day "I thank you, my friend, for it is in your death that the Scorekeeper finds my true worth." -T'char, to the recently deceased Admiral Torin Khel
Phytho
Good advice T'char I'll take that into account next time I see somthing that turns me off. So any way back to the topic. T'char what are you intending on doing after you capture "Sol Sebala". Are you going to hang around or are you going to get some more work that will eventually lead somewhere latter on in the story? Just wondering. Oh. And Jess when are you planning on leaving couse I recon that it would be cool for you to join Krytos where ever he is because I cant wait to find out how "The Organisation" Fits into this entire story. tchar
I haven't really got a lot planned for after i've dealt with Mr. Sebala, but i'd really enjoy being employed somehow in infiltrating the Organisation, or in the planing of some other neafrious deed. Oh, and if anyone needs someone, er eliminated, T'char Expert Bounty Service is just around the corner. We guarantee results, and will provided a money-back guarantee of service, including a full refund for resurrections. Currently on offer we have a two for one deal - we'll chuck in a local drug lord assasination for free with every imperial governmental assaination.  Played characters cost double! Phytho
I love the advertisement T'char but I suggest that you dont kill any actual characters. That just ruins someones experience of this forum. By the way Jess how important are the droids to your mission and are you planning on making them really powerful or anything like that. I think it would be really cool to get a robot with artificual intellignence for some role somewhere. He would probably be unstopable though. so maybe not such a good idea. Jess
You boys like to blab don't you. I have not posted for a while but I am planning on posting soon. Waiting for Solla to get her act together. The shadows are my friend, for in them I find comfort. But when it comes to war, I'll be with you in a minute.
Phytho
Sorry Jess we will try and cut out all the spam from now on. Any way Barakoa when are you intending on using your Sith commander and how is he going to make his grand entrance into the story. I recon it would be really cool if he could come along and almost destroy the movian defence fleet or somthing just for starters.
Krytos
A few updates from my end of the stick. Rantar's now on a downwards spiral of despair after finding out the sturtling news about his world. He'll be drunk for a while, until a friend pulls him out of the gutter (most probably, quite literally).Once back on track, he'll find out some more things about the Organisation, Sith and the Vorie. He'll then start an uprising on the planet and try to destroy the Vorie from there - any help would be appreciated Hmm, eventually I'll get Rantar to joinback up with Barkoa to tell him about the Org and some other interesting facts - like the Vorie's weakness, if Rantar ever finds it! Phytho
Sounds great Krytos I cant wait to see what you come up with next. Your post that explained how everything joins together is great. By the way Jess I think you should get Ulichorn to join you as soon as possible
tchar
Hey all! Coupla things -  - I think i mighta found a way to get employed again - if you remember, Phytho's people weren't the first people to place a bounty on Sebala, there was some other mysterious unknown group that placed their bounty first (that's the whole reason i was in the system in the first place). I was thinking that maybe the Organisation could have been the group who placed that first bounty. That OK with you, Krytos? If so, maybe they could offer me some more work when i deliver them proof of Sebala's death? - Again, i dunno how much a bounty is actually worth, so if someone could let me know whether 10,000 credits is in the right ballpark... - Phytho, your commanding officer on the recent combat missions was Commander Hoeye. Phytho
Great thanks for the note. I better start calling him by his real name in my posts then. By the way what ranking do I have to have before I am allowed to command a cruiser or somthing that can carry all my fighter wings?
Krytos
Hmm, tricky question. It really depends on the cruiser as well - if it's a light cruiser, heavy cruisre, carrier etc. Nevertheless, I'd say under the right cercumstances a Captain might be given the privallege or perhaps a field promotion just for that tour of duty upto a Major and allowed to command a vessel that lacks a CO for what ever reasons - killed or its a new ship and a captain for the vessel can't be found in time etc. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Phytho
Thanks I'm hoping to take over a light cruiser with enough space for four squadrons of fighters and hopefully when I get the right promotions I hope to take over the entire Movian fleet and fight Barkoas Sith general. Krytos
The whole fleet! Woo, that's going to be fun  Hey Jess, at present I was planning on leading a revolution agaisnt the Organisation on the Vathonir. Now that you're here, do you want me to wait for you to find me before I start or start and then you find me? http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Jess
Yes I was hoping to start it with you. My characters could offer a valuable asset. How can we find you though?  Maybe we see you at the pub or something! The shadows are my friend, for in them I find comfort. But when it comes to war, I'll be with you in a minute.
Phytho
Um I have to admit that my battle posts and ideas arnt that good so if any of you have a good idea for how I can win this battle then let me know and if you dont then I will have to just pull off a jolly miracle without using the "mystery fleet form nowhere" trick. It will probably be a several posts long battle so just post me an idea whenever and I will try and fit it in.
tchar
I'll just ask again - mind if i wind up working for the organisation, Krytos? It kinda flows logically from my other business... Krytos
Sorry T'Char - I must have missed that part  Go for it! We could use someone working as part of the Organisation, and your right that your character fits in there. Have fun with it - I'll be out of the loop for a while most probably, exams are literally right around the corner so I'd better start studying  I should be back at it by the end of the week at the latest. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Phytho
Sounds great Krytos. We also have exams in about four weeks time so we will probably not be posting so offten for a while and probably I will stay slow because of work and the internet connection I have at home is the worst I have seen anywhere. tchar
Cheers Krytos! Yeah - me, Pytho, Barkoa, Jess, Tan, etc... are likely to be unavailable for a while...
