Mission bit I can't offer a numerical answer, best thing to do is experiment.

The introduction can't be skipped on any operating system after Windows 98.

err...new messages not in bold....umm...not entirely sure they are in the first place; Rebellion isn't like outlook...

Welcome btw...

Thanks for the help, i managed to get (some) of ir working. I simply clicked all the little boxes for compatibility mode. Now i don't have to listen to C3PO drone on about where luke is.

New messages used to be in bold back when i used Windows 98 but they don't anymore on XP. Ah well i guess i'll get used to it.

:)

Jahled, don't worry. I'm running it under XP and that's basically 2k with a few visual upgrades

Cat, you sure you need the compatibility mode ? Rebellion runs just fine without it on any pc I've tried so far.

I have no problems running it on XP without the compatibility stuff on. It doesn't really do anything, since most games that won't work on regular XP won't work with the compat stuff on either.

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

I use Win XP.Ive had this game since its relase in 98 and played it on all platforms.I havent had any of your problems so cant help you there, but you CAN skip the intro by pressing the ESC key(at least I can).As to mission success % ,I agree ,experiment. You may also be able to get some insight by loadeing the RebED and looking at that info in there.

For mission success, it would depend on a number of factors that vary depending on the target, operative, environment etc. For example, if you are trying to get the last neutral planet in a sector controlled by the enemy, you chances of having any positive effect on the population of that planet on each mission report is smaller than if the sector were primarily neutral, or controled by you (I have experimented with this and find it to be mostly true). There are other factors like are there any enemy operatives working on the same planet (for all missions), is there a fleet in orbit (yours or your opponent's), obviousley the stats of the character must be taylored to fit the mission.

As a side note, Welcome to the forums Scorpion_TTC and Cat0234!
