Vero Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 What book series is it where the Republic fight the Vong Creatures? I would like to read as it sounds freakin awesome!
Krytos Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 The series of novels with the Yuuzhan Vong is called the New Jedi Order - its around 19 novels I think - as well as 1 or 2 e-books. Very good series, and worth the read http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Yes, they are truly some of the best books in the Star Wars universe. Just in case you are looking for information on where to buy them look at either Amazon or eBay.
Vero Posted August 14, 2004 Author Posted August 14, 2004 19 books!!!! OMG thats quite a bit. HOw long are the books?
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Between 200-500 pages, most around 200-300. Only the few hardcovers are more.
Trejiuvanat Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Between 200-500 pages, most around 200-300. Only the few hardcovers are more. Star By Star is the longest at 606 pages, but one of the best IMHO. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Star By Star is the longest at 606 pages, but one of the best IMHO. Agreed, Troy Denning's Star by Star was the best in the series. It had so many good ideas and rather sad ones... (won't say, do not want to ruin it)

Krytos Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Out of all the series, I found the NJO to be one of my favourite - if not my over all favourite - due to its harshness. Too many other novels have the good guys always winning or walking away from a battle unscaved. In the first novel of NJO, a main character dies (I wont spoil who for those who havn't read it ). During the entire series, no character is sacred enough to not be effected and you don't know if a particular character will survive the actual novel let alone the series. Also, the way that the Vong were described was exellent - it wasn't overlly horific, though it didn't underplay their ruthlessness. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Mad78 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 I heard of a rumor talking about post-NJO books which were going to come out. I hope they will be as good. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 You are correct Mad, there are going to be two series that take place after the events of TUF. The (rumored) details are in a thread I believe Darky started in this forum. You will have to look though, I cannot remember which one.
Trejiuvanat Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Actually it was me who posted it, just click here to read it If you really want news about new book releases theForce.net's books Section is the best. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
