Can anyone help me for my attempt to make a TC?

I am going to try to make a TC on the clone war, but the problem is that episode 3 isn’t out yet and that I haven't seen the cartoons that are supposed to make the link between episode 2 and 3. I also haven't read the books about it and, like if it wasn’t bad enough, I am really a novice with computer programming. you will tell me that it is easier to directly abandon, because I am sure that it will never be finished, but I am really board out of my mind ( that is why I was passing so long one the forum, sorry for all the messages I’ve sent inopportunely, but I hade really noting ells to do, but mad started to do his TC and he showed me the results and how to do a card with paint shop, which I am downloading now. so now I will pass less time on the forum. so mad brought you ME, and now he saved you from ME ) and I really want to do that TC. So if any one wants to help me, I would need a few things:

 

1st, can any one tell me where to start because I am starting by the cards but I am not sure that it is the best thing to do.

 

2nd, can any one tell me which ships he knows are in the clone war.

 

3ed, the same thing but with star fighters.

 

4th, can you send me an image of these ships if you have one.

 

5th, if you don't have any images of it, could you describe it.

 

6th, can any one tell me where is supposed to be Naboo and Geonosis compared to Corusant

 

7th, can I change the cards of planets, missions (like diplomatic or spying) and the result of missions (like «*** has been destroyed" for sabotage mission, the thing that comes at the end).

 

10th, can any one tell me if they know of a ship or star fighter texture of episode 1, 2 or 3 ( I say 3 because I think I won't have finish my TC by the time episode 3 comes out).

 

11th, can any one tell me with what I should start to do entirely new textures.

 

12th,can any one that has some experience on how to build textures give me so small help on how to do it or here find the help needed.

 

And I think that that is a big enough "shopping" list of things I need, and I would want to thanks every body that will help me, if there is anybody.

1) anything goes, start with whatever you're comfortable with. Be sure to download the dll contents file

from the download area here. It'll give you locations of all the things you might wanna change

 

2) Umm, Dreadnaught (late), VSD (also late), Acclamator, the Trade Federation droid control ship, the three Naboo designs, ... umm

 

3) Z95, Y-Wing, Naboo N1 fighter, the two different Trade Fed. droid fighters (Scarab and whatever the othe is called )

 

5) Well, most of them are in the movies and an image search on google will surely lead you to them

7) As I said, the "dll contents" file and the fact, that the files in the EDATA folder are bitmaps will get you there

 

10) ??? what happened to 8 & 9 ?

Hmm, actually I'd just uses what comes close to the ship's look and wouldn't specifically look for a "CloneWars" texture.

 

11) Yup, it's the same process as in the 'new fighters tutorial' and there's also a template texture in that

Well NIIIC there are some save problems with the RebEd so my first advaice to you is to save all your stuff one by one in a backup file ....well PTESB took 6 months of hard work ......so make sure that you have the will to finish

Check under mask's signature and there you'll find a www button, click on it and look for it in Mask's homepage.

 

It may also be in the downloads section, but i'm not sure.

The pics are quite nice ...now remember that the small ones are important too [status/tactical/fleet] also remember that new ships require new small backgrounds [explosion/hyperdrive] ....also I will love to see the new 3D models

Was the woo for the pics from the "Family affair" TC? Anyway trhanks for voting for me. Keep it up. N3C is going to germany for two weeks so I will at last be able to work on my TC. I would like to know if anybody could PM me the method for converting models from XWA?

The procedure is a bit tricky, it's far more simple if you try doing it first without textures and then try to do it with textures. Get Mask's Modellin Tutorial from Mask's Page or the SWR Downloads section.

 

To convert XWA OPTs to 3ds, you need a little program you can find in Darksaber's XWA Page. I can't remember the name, sorry.

 

When you have the 3ds, you'll most likely need a 3d editting program, like 3d Studio, LithUnwrap, and Mask's Modelling Tutorial and another little app called 3ds2x, to convert the 3dss into the x format Rebellion uses.

 

The pictures are a definite woo, the Familiy Affair looks nice, and I agree with Mask that yours is the better Acclamator, I'd try to make the Acclamator more horizontal the way its place on the picture make it seem as it was a starfighter and not a troop-carrier.

You can save yourself the trouble with converting most of the XWA models, if you download the ST Vs SW 2 conversion for StarTrek Armada 2. Link's here in the other mods section. Then you simply load the STA .sod file and save if as 3ds with Lith, resize it and change it to .x

Use the XWA models from the game, rather than Darksaber's. The originals have lower detail, thus are easier for conversion.... Or ask him nicely, and go get some coffee for conversion...

 

Try also Mask's solution.

About model conversions. Is there a place were there is a kind of tutoral about convrting models? It would be of great utility.

I only included the link to Darksaber's page for the opt23ds tool.

 

If you want to convert some of his models, then it is imperative, that you ask him nicely beforehand. He doesn't like it, when people use the models without his permission (it's just fair, that you do that as well).

 

But if you're looking for quickly convertable models, try the STA-2 mod, many of the models already have a single texture map
