bobandrubert Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 (edited) Ok first you put your .BIG file in the DATA folder. Then choose a shortcut( ver..29 has 2)and put it on your desktop. Right click on it and click on Run AS. go to Homeworld2\BIN\RELEASE and click on Homeworld2.exe. Then the game wil come up. Exit. Right click on it again and click profiles. If Homeworld2 is in its defalt folder then do target as "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod HW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST.Big -luatrace. If it is not I would reinstall the game. Now this is the part that gets most people. Start in should be "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release" now click on the shortcut and enjoy. Also for start in you should also reinstall it will make everything easyer. Don't change file pate when installing. This is a great MOD and everyone should enjoy. NOW please help me. Look at my post at Bugs something else. Tell me if this helps. Edit by Evaders99: Thanxs for typing this up. But please, don't use caps lock. This is considered shouting online and it is rude. Edited June 19, 2004 by bobandrubert
Desperado Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 For some reason im still having trouble installing the mod. I have read just about every post on this board on how to install it but im still having trouble. Ive put the .big file into my data folder and ive tried making the shortcut. I type in "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod HW2-SW-WARLORDS-BETA-V0.29_TEST.Big -luatrace for the target and "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2" as the start in. When i run the short cut I just get normal HW2 without sound and when i add a \bin\release to the start in i just get normal homeworld 2. I cant wait to play this awsome mod! Any ideas?

If u could email me at " Whtsadango@yahoo.com " I would appreciate it with any help u can give
SWR Staff - Executive EvilleJedi Posted June 19, 2004 SWR Staff - Executive Posted June 19, 2004 thanks for putting that up, I think I will move the initial post to another stickied thread so that it doesn't get shuffled.
Ragnar Posted June 20, 2004 Posted June 20, 2004 the update patch or HW2. Version 1.1, i have followed ur installation process and i have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 5 times now, and it is still not coming in the place where deathmatch is. If u could email me at " Whtsadango@yahoo.com " I would appreciate it with any help u can give The problem to this seems to be that there are 2 shortcuts provided with the mod (why not one?) They are not the same. One has : HW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST.Bigin it's profile as the mod's name and the other:HW2-SW-WARLORDS-BETA-V0.29_TEST.Bigand only this last one will actually work, since that is the correct filename. The good shortcut is named:RDNHW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST The problem is aggravated by the fact that the readme.txt in the mod gets the filename of the mod wrong as well: HW2-SW-WARLORDS-BETA-V0.28_TEST.BigHW2-SW-WARLORDS-BETA-V0.29_TEST.BigSo this is nearly impossible to figure out if you don't know or think about what the switches actually do. I'd say a small update to the readme.txt should help smooth things along for most people. Those that already had an earlier version of the mod probably just updated their shortcut manually and would therefore not have noticed this problem. best,Ragnar
bobandrubert Posted June 25, 2004 Author Posted June 25, 2004 Also that was not his problem. It was me installed HW2 to a different dir.
Lancer Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 This is what I did: Install HW2, put 1.1 patch (shortcut on desktop). Unzip the mod (make sure you place it in the data folder and dont use folder names). Then unzip the music (optional ) with folder names this time to the data folder. Go to properties of the shortcut on your desktop not the ones that come with the mod -> ::installed drive::folder::\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod HW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST.Big -luatrace Mine looks like this: D:\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod HW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST.Big -luatrace
bobandrubert Posted June 28, 2004 Author Posted June 28, 2004 I guess I sould cloce this thread down.Pm if you want it I will close down in 4 days. Bye post
