Minelaying

Are the small Plataforms the only types of mines, or do some ships have Homeworld2-style minelaying abilities (the Y key)? If some ships can lay mines, which ones?

once I get the starwars style laser mines working, the escort transport will have mine laying ability. I doubt I will have heavy anti ship mines though.
