How the hell do you win this game?

Someone please help me.

I've taken over every planet except Corusant. I have a MASSIVE fleet blockading the planet. I have just about every character at the fleet.

On Corusant:

The Emperor

A General (Can't remember which one)

2 LAN 2 Batteries

2 Gencore II Shields

6 Stormtrooper troops.

No mission I run works. I've tried sabotage using 60 infiltrators and all the characters. Nothing I try works. It seems impossible to take this planet.

Can someone help me please? What do I have to do to win this game?

Only 2 gencores and 2 LNR's? Bomb the damn planet. If you have a massive fleet and I assume an Admiral aboard open fire. Your first shot will level every military instalation on the planet. You will lose 2 ships but if your fleet is massive 2 ships will mean nothing to you. With the troops gone you can then do abduction missions or simply assault the planet.

Yep, just get ships with bombardment. Two shields can't stand against some good VSDs :)

But if hes trying to take Coruscant an the Emporer is on it that means he is a rebel and doesent have VSDs :D

I know what ya mean though gotta love useing those big triangelar pices of distruckive metel or water there made out of to level a rebel planet!

The big ones!

Try the Liberator and the Bulwark, or have your massive fleet loaded with B-Wings, that'll make short work of the GenCores.

If you stick to sabotage missions, don't send large teams. It'd be preferable if you send Han Solo and Chewbacca, and perhaps Orrimaarko and/or Page. Just don't send Skywalker!

Remember that you have to capture Coruscant so keep at least of your troop regiments at hand for assaulting after you kill the troops and the defenses.

 hmmm ...maybe you incrised the power of shields with rebed ?

 If nothing works try adding some bombardament power with rebed to the ships and then load again the game :)

 or....more honorable build big ships with B-wings ..... with admiral and commander on bord the job will be done :)

That may not be quite true, Trej. Sure, if you send Skywalker then he'll be detected through the Force, thereby foiling the mission. However, Datajack hasn't said whether or not he's captured Vader. If so, then yes, your suggestion works. However, if Vader ISN'T captured, then sending Luke on a mission (assuming Vader is there as well) will result in the "Final Battle", thereby netting Vader AND the Emperor for the Rebels. Then, assuming that the General on Coruscant isn't Force-sensitive, he sends Luke and/or another Jedi or two, and viola! No more defenses.

But otherwise, build about a half-dozen escort carriers, fill 'em chock full of B-Wings, assign an Admiral, Commander, and General to the fleet and then bombard the planet.

He said that the only one down on Coruscant was Palpy, I assume he already has Vader, so sending Luke along will constantly fail the mission as Lukes winds up fighting Palpatine.

Yeah, but I figured on the off-chance that he hasn't, then it'd be a good way to get two out of three victory conditions and set him up to quickly get the third.

First of all, thanks to all of you for the great advice. I had 2 Bulwarks in my fleet. I added two more and I also added 24 B-Wings. That did it. The bombardment took out most of the military installations. I was easily able to assault the planet and win the game after that (I had 60 wookie troops in my fleet).

To answer some of your questions:

Palpatine and a general were the only ones left. And Palpatine was injured. I think he was injured when I sent Luke on a mission and they squared off but I'm not sure. Vader (and all other Imperial characters) were captured and on my fleet.

It seems brute force is the way to go in this game when it comes to heavily defended planets. I tried all manner of character/special forces combinations and nothing worked. I had decoys in every mission and I even sent various missions at once to various targets and nothing worked.

I've had this game since it came out and I beat then when it came out. I recently reinstalled it and thanks the you guys I was able to beat the game again.

I think this time I'll try again as the Empire.... :)

Later guys, and thanks again.
