Granville Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 yeah i have done both of those. Ive installed it on me laptop and my bros PC, they are all what i believe to be fairly standard XP builds. Tis very frustrating!
Cain Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 .... Hmmm try ask Mask ....maybe is cose of the laptop components ?!....it should work on XP....btw that is why I have win'98 on my PC.....so I can play SWR - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -
the_mask Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Hi, tell me: did you try some models, that refer to the same texture ? That's the only thing, despite of a faulty graphic-card driver, that can make the game crash. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Granville Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 ive tried it on 4 diffo PC's which have 4 diffo gfx cards, Ive only done standard installs and tried with the patch and without. Im thinking the only thing the same is my CD, its pretty old, wonder if its knackered, ive got a new 1 on the way.
Cain Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 yeah my CD is getting old also....starts to have problems .... gut to burn it with nero one day - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -
the_mask Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 You can also create an image of your Rebellion cd. Then run Daemon Tools with it and install the game from this virtual drive. It handles like a cd and your original doesn't get strained anymore http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Granville Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 well ive found that i cant copy the mdata folder off the CD that could explain it
Granville Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 bah ok so its just 1 file that wont copy! a 3mb file holding me back from playing this game!!!!!
Trejiuvanat Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Try shutting the music off, that's what is in the MDATA folder... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
the_mask Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Which one is it ? If it's above .102, then it's a music file. Up to this point are the movies. You can copy one of the other (fitting) files into the folder and name it like the one you lost. Of course you'll have one double, but you'll be able to play again http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Cain Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 .... btw Mask i can load the Nero image in a virtual drive but the stupid RebEd wont see it - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -
the_mask Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 What would you use the cd with RebEd for, except for the partial installer ?Try making a CloneCD, or ISO image and open that with Daemon Tools, I'm only running this, cause I know it works http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 I used to run that but it wound up doing something to the configuration of my CD-RW/DVD Drive... (I couldn't watch DVDs anymore)... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
the_mask Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Never heard of that effect before. Are you running something "below" 2k, or XP ? Do you have the Aspi drivers installed ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 XP SP2, all drivers uptodate... I stopped using it anyway, the Images wound up consuming too much diskspace anyway... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
