Xerox_II Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 I was browsing DLLs and found a sound that says "Personnel ejecting from fighters, recovery will be reqired after the battle" How personnel can be moved to fighters? I've tried drag'n'drop and move command, but it doesn't work. The Empire is all. It could never be defeated. NEVER.Thrawn lived, Thrawn lives, Thrawn's gonna live!SWR has you, follow the blue Thrawn.[+1 post]
the_mask Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 I only know of "Personal force to abandon ship, recovery will be required after the battle". That's what the imp officer says, if a capital ship with characters on it blows up. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Cain Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Maybe this are the rebels !? anyway I suspect that ...or the Rebellion was mees up in the makeing process by lucas satff !?...or they have a cheat that give the player more staff hidden already in the game ? - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -
Lord_La_forge Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Must be unused one. Like the Millenium Falcon is a "fighter" unit in the dll too. The developers wanted to add this feature to fighters...I wonder why they abandoned their plan? Perhaps, they had to complete the game in a certain time limit. We never will know...

That's probably it. YEt one more question for Scath's contact.. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Lord_La_forge Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 I just had a thought. What if this feature is embended, just not in tact? There could be an unknown flag for the fighters, which could contain this value (can hold staff). I think they did abandon the idea because it's too complicated. There should have been made new limitations like: you can't place 150 espionage droids in one A-wing, and so on..
Chimera Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Sure you can put 150 espionage driods on a A-wing. Didn't you ever have the barrel of monkeys game? Just link the droids and away you go! http://us.st4.yimg.com/store4.yimg.com/I/boardgames_1782_38876513 Droids Rule! Fleshies Drool!
Jahled Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 For such a band of long term hacks you guys should collectively rush towards the nearest solid object whilst yelling 'We knew that all along!' Have any of you never had a character assigned to a commander on a system with lots of fighters and been hammered by your opponant; thereby giving your game the sticky choice of waht to do with the character who was in command of all those doomed fighters? Emm... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
the_mask Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 But I thought that character would remain either on-planet or on the ship in the fleet and command the fighters from there. I've never heard the abandon ship line when all the fighters of a commander had been vaporized. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Jahled Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Actually nor have I, but as a theory it stands... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
the_mask Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Ah, I see Ok, now all we need is a successful test to prove this theory. Mask turns around:"Any volunteers ?"everyone takes a step back"I somehow knew you would say that." http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Texas_Fett Posted March 15, 2004 Posted March 15, 2004 This is kind of related, but I've never noticed a system-bound commander having much of an affect on the performance of starfighter garissons when compared to the same character giving his orders from an orbiting capital ship. Same goes for a General in a fleet when you order a planetary bombardment (the manual and strategy guide claim this increases the effectiveness of the bombardment, but all I've noticed is that it reduces the chance of civilian casualties). But back to the subject at hand: I've never heard either of the "eject" lines before! Five of the Greatest Lines in the Star Wars Trilogy -"As you wish..."-"He's no good to me dead..."-"What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me."-"Put Captain Solo in the Cargo Hold"-"AaaaaAAaaaaaa!!" Fett's VetteThe Lyrics
the_mask Posted March 15, 2004 Posted March 15, 2004 I thought the General increases the chances that more of your troops stay alive during a planetary assault. I mostly have one on Coruscant, if I play the Empire and one on my prison planet. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

I mostly have one on Coruscant, if I play the Empire and one on my prison planet. That too. They also increase the detection rating of the troops garissoned there. Allegedly, Commanders do the same for Starfighters, but . I DO know they dramatically increase their response time in tactical, as well as their survivability. Admirals supposedly increase the detection rating for capital ships as well as their response time in combat (I don't know about any of the other attributes). Generals are, by far, the most useful "Command" rank, given all the bonuses they 'theoretically' bestow upon Assaults, Bombardments, Detection Ratings, etc. But then again, I'm basing this all off the strategy guide and a modicum of personal experience, so...take it as you will.
