Hi,

 

I searched the Editing forum and didn't see any topics about this. Has anybody ever looked for/figured out how to change the recharge time for the Death Star's superlaser in tactical combat? I imagine that it's hardcoded in REBEXE.EXE. Does anyone know at least what the actual time value is, is it a minute or two?

actually it's stored in capshpsd.dat, but you can easily change the weapon recharge rate with RebEd. Although you have to go really high. I've currently got it at 7000 and still can fire just once or twice on a battle.

I don't think that's it. I had it set to 200, and when the battle started, I destroyed a ship. The bar had only recharged to about 10-15% when the rest of the fleet went into hyperspace. I saved the game, changed the weapon recharge rate in RebEd to 25000, opened the game, made a new Death Star so it would have the new value, did the same thing as above, and the bar still only recharged the same length in the same amount of time.

 

I think the weapon recharge field in capshpsd.dat is for normal turbolasers, ion cannons, and lasers, not for the Death Star's superlaser.

Hmmm...I noticed that to...btw. were is the laser stoerd in the game ?!?...will see one day :)

Maybe 250000 was just too much. If the recharge rate is an integer variable, then you can't go over ~32000, ~64000 for an unsigned integer.
